I'll take a 39 year old Hopkins over a 20 something Sturm anyday of the week.

Hop did not outbox Oscar in the early going. The little of the jabs that were thrown and landed in the first four rounds were mostly De la Hoya's. Sturm threw/landed more jabs per round than De la Hoya (compustat) when they met, +, De la Hoya stood face up vs. Hopkins. Many wonder what would have happened had he stayed outside and boxed. Sturm consistently stays outside. And he has not been known to fade in the later rounds. Can Hopkins get to Sturm; grab him and force him to fight up close? Will the ref not be one who's prone to break up in-fighting too early? A highly "visible" ref would be in Sturm's favor.

What are you risking on the fight? Tiddly Winks? Take the early odds on STURM and you won't come crying to the forum after the fight.

Sturm will not beat hopkins not b4 his 65th birthday.

come on for crying out loud hopkins is the best middleweight since hagler, BAR NONE, Sturm just got robbed against a fat de la hoya, dont get so carried away you are talking bout two fighters who are miles apart in the class department.

Sturm is a solid pro with a decent career ahead of him, Hopkins is a gaurneteed hall of famer who has made 19 defences is one of the top five all time middleweights (in my book anyway).

its just not even comparable, hopkins tko 5 if they meet.

i suppose you might be hoping for the fight in germany so that we can have another sven ottke robin / reid debacle, where BHop isnt allowed to hit Sturm, maybe then and if they tie his legs together and his gloves it might be close

Styles make fights...STURM is tall, very conditioned, quick, economical and has a wicked jab. Hopkins finally looks "old" in a fight. I will bet this one big.

he is also upright, exposed, light handed and his midriff will be ****** like a tom tom til he wants to piss blood Im afraid.

you did just see the body shot that put down de la hoya, and you did also see how many times de la hoya cracked him in the body when they fought, you think he can last 12 rounds with B hop with those tactics, not a hope.

you aint talking about an overweight de la hoya here, you are talking about a guy who has one more defence at middle do you honestly think he is gonna let anyone beat him?

nah. I like sturm but the best thing for his career is if he contests the belts post Bhop retirement.

              he aint ready yet.

Oh yes I know your journal quite well, I use it twice a day to wipe my ass.....I really appreciate it's insipid illiteracy and vastly shallow acumen AND THE FACT THAT IT IS TWO-PLY AND QUILTED REALLY TAKES THE CAKE!

haha . whatever mate maybe one day you will actually read something on boxing dude, or maybe if you have all the answers you could give writing a go, you know do something constructive for the sport we love. Get some exposure rather than messing about here putting people down. Its quite sad really.

I was good enough to be approached to write for this site, but declined for now due to the fact I am loyal to my present employees / friends.

Met many people like you on sites, they generally start throwing insults to cover up their own lack of knowledge and eloquence.

No I dont think about the grammar in every post I write I save that for my articles.

Now I suggest that you get into the socialist spirit of these boards and stop being a ****head. I have no desire to enter some petty internet feud, I will state it again, im here to talk boxing.

If not well guess Ill just have to use the ignore button, which I would rather not do.

IN WITH THE LOVE OUT WITH THE HATE!
