why kessler will not fight calzaghe

for kesslers promoters to get joe to fight they would have to offer him at least 75 percent of the combined purse, calzaghe is motivated by money and not fame. kessler knows a win over calzaghe would put him amonst the high earners in world boxing so why not make calzaghe an offer he cannot refuse.
The reason kesslers promoters wont make that offer is they know calzaghe would be to good for there man the only way calzaghe losses this fight is if his age catches up with him.

They HAVE made Calzaghe an offer that would give him far more than 75% of expected combined purse. However that was an offer for a fight in Denmark - which Warren flatly refused.
If Warren wants a fight in the UK he should make an offer. Palle (Kessler'spromotor) has said they've asked repeatedly for Warren to make some kind of offer for aUK fight - to no avail. He also said The latest (already mentioned) offer for a fight in Denmark was primarily aimed at provoking Warren into making an offer for aUK fight. But so far Warren has offered nothing.
Palle is in no position to arrange fights in the UK. So if the fight is to be in the UK Warren should be the one making the offer. But he hasn't been willing to do so.

Maybe Kessler should get a half decent promoter who can put a show on outside Denmark?

What's with all this stuff about this Kessler guy? Nobody cares about him.

Calzaghe is after Hopkins, he's fighting for legacy, not messing about with European idiots.

If hes fighting for Legacy why not push harder for Taylor. Sure fighting Hopkins would be huge for Calzaghe but even if he beats him people will still not give Calzaghe credit because Taylor beat Hopkins twice and boxing fans have short memories about how a good a fight was.

It's not like Warren puts on shows outside the UK.
If his fighters fight outside the UK, it's because they've accepted offers from other promotors (or lost purse-offers).
Palle is no different than other promotors in that respect.

yep and neither of those two guys have anything to offer, no belts, no real prestige, and not any real notoriety. manfredo has a tiny bit but it's not from his world class fights, manfredo's popularity is more from a reality show, not from being and winning exciting world class fights.

this whole calzahe/frank warren style of making fights just taints calzaghe's record and his credibility.

i think calzaghe is an awesome boxer that has done some amazing things inside the ring, but never fighting out of the UK except maybe scotland once and not fighting guys that are in their prime, doesn't really do him any justice. it makes him look like he has had a padded record and an over protected career.

in order to change that calzaghe needs to unify and take on guys that are in their prime, stop fighting guys that arent' ready to be in the ring with him and stop fighting guys that are in the twilight of their careers. start fighting current world champs in or around his division and start fighting top names and quit hiding behind money.

also if a fighter is top **** then he should have no problem going somewhere else to fight, either way you look at it fighting period is a risk at losing, no matter where you are. you could lose on cuts, fouls, or plain flat out get robbed. fighting at home might eliminate favortism in judging going the other way, and it might eliminate bias refereeing, but if you have to hide behind all that for your WHOLE CAREER something aint right? it raises the question, are you a world class fighter? and are you worthy of being called a World Champ?
