True, but even still Barrera's style is perfect for Pacquiao. His particular style when he goes into boxing mode meshes perfectly cuz he pushes his jab and leaves a gap, and when you push instead of snap your jab, it's easy for Pacquiao to pick it off with the right and then counter over the top with the 1-2. Pacquiao did that all night and got to Barrera. Now if Barrera chooses to ****, which I don't think he'd be able or willing to do for long, Pacquiao is faster, stronger, and hits a lot harder. Barrera is just too much of a catcher for this kind of style of fighter.

Its about time Pac left the old "shot" warriors alone and started facing some prime opposition.

He needs to put his money where his ****ing mouth is. Four of his last five opponents were coming off huge losses ffs and if he continues to try and make a name by beating these war-torn guys then any chance of a true legacy will be gone forever.

Yes, if he keeps winning fights then his legacy is gone forever

A legacy imo is decided by not only the way a fighter wins but also who he beats and people will always say he only ever fought past it fighters unless he fights the best.

There's a difference between beating the best and beating guys who were the best 7 or 8 years ago and it seems Pac is happy to do the latter.

I don't see any of these other guys at 130-135 jumping to fight him. Edwin Valero? Medically suspended. Joan Guzman? Locked up in promotional issues. Who has he been fighting anyways? Juan Diaz? He's at a higher weight. There aren't a whole lot of highly qualified guys anyway at that weight range and Barrera has a belt. If he's washed up and doesn't want to fight Pacquiao, tell him to give up the belt. If he's so unqualified, then maybe he shouldn't be fighting anyways.

Barrera is still able to mount a challenge at world level but he's no where near the fighter he was years ago so a win for Pac would only raise the questions of how good would Pac be against the MAB of 99/00.

Manny has stated that he wants to fight both MAB and JMM and with all the politics and financial jargin with fights as profitable as these it would be fair to suspect that they will take ages to set up(not to mention re-match delays if he loses), that means if he wants to fight Guzman etc after that your talking about at least another 2 years and by then both Pac and Guzman etc will be considered fairly old in boxing terms, which will again raise questions of who would win in their respective primes. His prime is right now and Guzman is priming right now also so if its gonna happen then now is the time!!!

you mean the MAB that couldn't box to save his life and had to rely on brawling to have any chance? yeah, tough fight. Pacquiao TKO3

the Barrera that beat Hamed and Morales in the rematch (which Barrera still deserved to lose) WAS the best version possible. that same Barrera fought Pacquiao a year after the Morales fight and got squashed. so how do you figure any "other" Barrera stands a chance?
