The headbutts aren't as vivid as you might suspect, he does the same thing Cotto does by keeping his head low so as to avoid the collision affecting him, but putting his man in position to get a cut. And with the low blows, he's proficient.

When you keep your head low, that makes you less vulnerable for a headbutt than the man who is higher. Is it intentional? Sure. Is it smart if you fight somewhere where they don't call it? Sure.

He holds a win over Soulemayne M'Baye, who is the WBA champ now I believe at 140. Also, he has a W over Gary St. Clair, the exiled 130 pound titlist from Australia. He went over to Germany to KO Oktay Urkal and his only really egregiously bad night was the Maussa fight. I think that people are seriously overlooking this guy and he has to be a serious favorite over Lazcano, who looked everything the shot fighter in his last fight on Boxeo De Oro.

I think Harris beats Junior Witter, I think he beats Kendall Holt, and I think he beats Juan Urango. Ricky Hatton, Diego Corrales, and Jose Luis Castillo, he'd be there all night with those guys.
Yeah, just don't throw Carlos Maussa in there...

Seeing that 140 is looking mighty scrawny right now, I got Harris at 3rd, Witter and Hatton being the other two.

Harris is a nice fighter but he needs certain opponents to do well (in my opinion). Those bigger name fighters he beat were vulnerable to being removed from with the fight at the drop of a hat (M'Baye and Hurtado mainly). He is a guy who CAN be taken out of his strategy and he has had major problems with opponents who pressure him and can take a punch. Oliveira (even though Harris was young) took him right out of his gameplan and had his way with him by throwing a ton. When Harris saw he couldn't get him out of there with his power, he more or less failed to use a different strategy. Same with Maussa (which might be the worst loss any top contender currently has on their resume).

I think Harris could make same noise with his length and punching ability, but I can't see him taking on Hatton or Castillo. Those fellas would push him around and would crack that slender body until it broke.

Hey AS/HT...you catch that M'Baye/Balbi fight? That **** was pretty damned entertaining.

I'd like to see Harris and Holt fight for sure.

Harris is no scrub but I think he'd get eaten alive by Ricky Hatton. Vivian doesn't know how to fight tall (i.e. keeping the jab poppin') and unless he's learned how to keep the distance lately (since his last fight), he'd have a very tough time against any pressure fighter.

Simply stated, Vivian doesn't know how to fight going backwards. That's why Lazcano, Hatton, Castillo, Corrales, and Cotto would've been dangerous match-ups for him. Others, like Holt, M'Baye, Witter, and Corley would have a tough time because they don't presure their opponent much.

Pressure is why he lost to Maussa. Pressure is why he'll lose to Lazcano.

C'mon, you spin his resume one way, I'll spin it another. His comebacks following the Maussa fight included the new generation's Reggie Strickland, named Marteze Logan who only got the fight because he upset Americo Santos in a replacement TV fight on Shobox, then went back to losing, and Stevie Johnston, who had no business fighting probably at all, but at least not at 140 against a Top 10 guy while in the twilight of his brawl-filled career.
