No I dont think he is ,he may be on the Showtime Febuary card. King always pulls this. Spinks vs Jones has been added to every one of his big fight cards in the last 5 months & still not happened. He loads up the undercards to help ticket sales etc then half the fights dont happen.
As of now box rec shows Spinks vs Jones on the Adamak vs Dawson card in Febuary. We will see.
As of now I think Jose Antonio Rivera vs Travis Simms is the televised undercard.
I dont think this rematch between Peter & Toney should be happening. It was an eliminator & Peter won. He should get the shot & if he wins the title then let him & Toney fight again. The fight was close but nobody was robbed. I thought Peter won barely but wouldnt argue either way or a draw.
Froma pic I saw Peter looked abit overweight. As far as Toney gettin the tae bo instructor etc & bein in shape. I will beleive it when I see it.
I do think it will be another close fight with Toney winning by decision.Comment

I think that even in the same condition, Toney is enough of a veteran to know exactly what to do to win decisively this time, but I'm hoping he comes in shape because this "do barely enough to win the fight" mentality isn't gonna keep people entertained & it's definitely not gonna get him past real determined & decently skilled opponents, unfortunately with the HW division in that state it's in I think fat Toney could still win a title without really trying.Comment

Getting punched hard can be tiresome. Toney does not punch hard, and that is the understatement of the year.I was re watching the Peter- Klitschko fight once again and it struck me that Sam Peter may have some endurance problems. Now, yes, it's not unheard of for a heavyweight to gas out...but Peter never has a huge punch output, and yet he tires quite a bit- throwing one punch and puffing for another fifteen seconds. Part of this may be of his wild, looping punches that do little to conserve energy..but..

Close fight but I think Peter will have worked on what he needs to do to win in the gym. He needs to improve his jab because he was catching Toney with it and knocking his equilibrium off every time it landed. He needs to fight efficiently and at a lower workrate (ie behind a jab, and even backing up occasionally and making Toney initiate the exchanges) in the opening rounds while tying Toney up when he gets in close and pushing him in the clinches. Then, in the middle and late rounds he should add in hooks and big right hands when Toney is tired and makes more mistakes.
Stick to the jab and use his height early and win some early rounds, and then bring out the big guns later and try to either stop Toney late or take the rounds. Coming out like a raging bull early is just going to let Toney take advantage of the openings and win the first few rounds.
I don't think anyone is going to get knocked out but I wouldn't be surprised if Toney is stopped late after taking far too many punches from the much stronger man.
As for Toney in shape, I'll believe when I see it. I think Toney comes to fight at around 230-235 again. Peter should come in no higher than 245 he needs to be the stronger man later in the fight. Take advantage of that youth, don't give it away just to come in fat and slow.Comment

Everything you said makes perfect sense, I just think you're expecting too much from Peters, especially if you're hoping Peters doesn't come in fat & SlowClose fight but I think Peter will have worked on what he needs to do to win in the gym.
