I had moved to a new school, freshman year right after the term started. I know nobody and this funny lookin' kid in English class turns around and tells me that he can kick my ass, that hes a boxer. Im like that owl, O Rely. He tells me to meet him at the fire station at 7 so that he could kick my ass. He told me to bring $10 and band-aides. So I show up, the kid never does and 3 years later Im throwin' fists at the Palace. And then 7 years later.....

Give it a go in the ring. Nothing will seem as real in the common world once you realize that its real in the ring. It will teach you more about yourself than anything I can think of. Free your mind and your body will follow..............Rockin'

I play football for my highschool team, and I'm a middle linebacker..but I don't really get what I want to out of it. So I want to get into this because I really want to prove something to myself. But the problem is, I don't really think my parents are so into it.

Is there any advice you can give me on how to tell them I want to box? I am very athletic, and I have strong arms so I think I'll do well. Also, if they do say yes, can you tell me what I will need to start? Im 14, 145lbs,
        and 5'11".

If you read this I really thank you. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.
Don't forget to concentrate on chicks too. This is the best time of your life.

Women don't improve with age, generally.

Many peak out at 16, like Kournikova..

Try to get as many mental pictures as you can- for later in the life.

Being out of school makes it much harder to meet chicks.

Say goodbye to "selection" when it's over.

You'll end up with a gargoyle- like the one I was with last night...

Tell them its not easy to have your nose broken in the amatures. And you will learn a lot with Boxing and get a lot of confidence. Some advice i'd like to add is if you are going to box make sure you stick with it till at least you get one amature fight this way you don't ask yourself what if? And the ladies like a man who can fight.

I forget which year it was, i think in the late 90's. In the news seemed like every week they were reporting how this kid or pro, died from football. And they were saying how football was dangerous and such. And i've heard them say that a football player getting a concusion is worse or same as a fighter getting ko'd concusions. And i remember a few weeks ago how they were talking about football injuries and they said that a few football players didn't live past 50-60, years old and some of these players had concusions.
