I know it will be tough, but I really want to prove something to myself. I have really fast arms, and reflexes also.

Boxing's not for everyone, you have to sacrifice a lot to be a boxer, might be easier to just stick to football. Give it a shot without telling your parents and if you think boxing's for you then have your trainer call them up and talk to them, show them the amateur protective gear, talk about discipline, individual achievements and all that crap.
Aswell you should inform your parents that amatuer boxing is very little like the pros. In the pros your seeing guys dropped left and right and cuts all over the place. In the amatuers this happens very seldom.

I referee and judge the amatuers in Michigan and our #1 priority over all is to make sure that the kids dont get hurt. If somebody is in trouble we will stop the bout to let the kid fight another day when maybe hell be up to par. Its all about learning and saftey for USABoxing. Bringing up americas youth to be stolid and strong with the confidence that only the ring can bring you............Rockin'

Good job, take care of those future champs, its pretty much the same in PR, if a kid gets rocked pretty hard he gets a protective count right away, but as far as stopping the fight, they'll let it go unless its a brutal one sided beating.

We wont stop the fight unless it looks bad for the kid. Me saying that we will stop it was just quicker to write. I dont hesitate with an 8 count if I think a kid is hurt. I get booed and hissed at by the crowd and usually bitched at by the kids trainer, even when its so plainly obvious that he's hurt. The funny thing is that in amatuer boxing it means almost nothing in the scoring of the bout. I would rather take the bitching from everybody then have to read in the paper the next day that some kid died and I was in the ring controling the bout, no way would I want that. They can always come back and fight another day when erroring on the side of safety, and that whats its about...........Rockin'

I was speaking to Kimmy, mate. I wouldn't begrudge a new member posting an introduction in the NSB if that's where he's going to hang out.

Yeap, **** the crowds and look out for the kids, that's it, I don't know how it is over there but amateur judges here are terrible, I think they get paid under the table, It seems that in every boxing card there are at least a few complete robberies LOL. That's why it is very important to show the kids this is only a learning experience and not a fight that counts to avoid frustrating them if get robbed.
