  • ROCKY BALBOA, the biggest problem....

OK, I just saw the movie... the fight scenes to me were NOT nearly as realistic as they tried to make it.. they also say that Tarver was REALLY hitting Stallone with hard shots.. let me tell you... even withotut seeing the movie...NO WAY NO HOW!!! If Hollywood thinks anybody with a boxing background is going to believe for even one second that 60 year old Sylvester Stallone could take a real punch from Antonio Tarver without getting knocked OUT, buster up badly etc etc etc, than they are even caught up in the world of make believe that I ever thought possible. Now, the two biggest flaws of the movie (and otherwise I thought it was pretty good) are these. 1st.... In his prime Rocky's face, even in winning, was beaten to a pulp by Creed, Lang and Drago. Now at 60 years old he goes distance with the reigning world champ, a guy 33-0 with 30 KO's, and all he gets is a bloody nose and lip and a cut around the eye??? Annnnnnnnnnnt! And 2nd.... in this movie they refer to George Foreman winning the title at an advanced age over Moorer and they reference Muhammad Ali by face and name.... Well, where was Ali in the world of 1975 and the original ROCKY? Creed WAS Ali.....even boasting in the original about being "the greatest of all time!!" Where was Foreman in all this? In 1975 Creed was 48-0, the unbeaten world champ, so he must have been champ for a while seeing as how famous and legendary they made him out to be in that movie. If that's true then why was Joe Frazier, introduced in the first film, as big and famous of a fighter as they made him out to be? Where was Ali and Foreman in that world? Foreman came back to fight Moorer in the latest movie..... but when was he the champ in that world? They made a HUGE goof IMO of mentioning Foreman and they never should have made Ali out to be a real person. That messed it up bad to me.

the press has molded peoples opinions as they have liked for years, I know you know this. If the press wants them, ********s, to believe that Slys actually being busted hard then let 'em, what ever draws people towards the sport is good in my opinion.

Yea, I mean, its only a movie BUT in a case like this they shouldn't overlook things like that... and having Ali be an actual fighter when Appolo Creed was their main character.... in their world where did Ali fit in? And Foreman? I don't see how it is possible. It's like in "ALI" with Will Smith and they talked about how much attention was paid to every little detail YET at the Liston weigh-in, in the movie. Will Smith was NOT wearing a "Bear Huntin'" Jacket. To people that know better...things like that REALLY stand out.

Picky? LOL Nah, man. but come on.. u are watching ROCKY all these years assuming Creed IS Ali...and now you find out Ali really did exist in that world...and Foreman did, too????? I mean, a movie is a movie..but come on for such a BIG movie you would think they would try to not overlook blatant stuff like that

Maybe Creed was soooo good, he overshadowed even Ali. If I recall Creed was something like 47-0 and nobody ever went the distance with him.
Perhaps Ali was part of the 47. Creed TKO14 Ali

Looks are deceiving, because you are wrong on this one. Stallone was genuinely KOd in filming and had to go off to the hospital. The fight scenes were done pretty well I thought. It's not a real fight after all.

It's just a movie man relax yourself, I enjoyed it a lot since the whole theater audience was reacting at the fight scenes like it was a real fight...
                    Thumbs up...
