If Hollywood thinks anybody with a boxing background is going to believe for even one second that 60 year old Sylvester Stallone could take a real punch from Antonio Tarver without getting knocked OUT, buster up badly etc etc etc, than they are even caught up in the world of make believe that I ever thought possible. Now, the two biggest flaws of the movie (and otherwise I thought it was pretty good) are these. 1st.... In his prime Rocky's face, even in winning, was beaten to a pulp by Creed, Lang and Drago. Now at 60 years old he goes distance with the reigning world champ, a guy 33-0 with 30 KO's, and all he gets is a bloody nose and lip and a cut around the eye??? Annnnnnnnnnnt! And 2nd.... in this movie they refer to George Foreman winning the title at an advanced age over Moorer and they reference Muhammad Ali by face and name.... Well, where was Ali in the world of 1975 and the original ROCKY? Creed WAS Ali.....even boasting in the original about being "the greatest of all time!!" Where was Foreman in all this? In 1975 Creed was 48-0, the unbeaten world champ, so he must have been champ for a while seeing as how famous and legendary they made him out to be in that movie. If that's true then why was Joe Frazier, introduced in the first film, as big and famous of a fighter as they made him out to be? Where was Ali and Foreman in that world? Foreman came back to fight Moorer in the latest movie..... but when was he the champ in that world? They made a HUGE goof IMO of mentioning Foreman and they never should have made Ali out to be a real person. That messed it up bad to me.
    LOL I found it ....
Heavy Weight Champions as acknowledged by the Rocky films: (Fictional time line)(In Rocky mythology the late Ali era, the Larry Holmes era and the post Lennox Lewis era does not exist and neither do most of the portion belt holders.)(Some non fictional events do occur but within an alternate time span.)

1967: Muhammad Ali (stripped of title)
1968-1971: Joe Frazier (Wins Vacant Title)
    1971-1972: George Foreman (KO Frazier)
1972-1973: Muhammad Ali (KO Foreman) (retires after the Thrilla in Manila)
1973-1976: Apollo Creed (Wins Vacant Title)
    1976-1981: Rocky Balboa (KO Creed)
    1981-1982: Clubber Lang (KO Balboa)
1982-1984: Rocky Balboa (KO Lang) (Rocky is stripped of title then retires)
1984-1986: Clubber Lang (Wins Vacant Title)(Retires)
1986-1990: Mike Tyson (Wins vacant title) (Mike Tyson is sent to prison. The title is vacated.)
1990: Union Cane (wins the vacant title)
    1990-1991: Tommy Gunn (KO Cane)
    1991-1993: Evander Holyfield (KO Gunn)
1993-1995: Rid**** Bowe (Decisions Holyfield) (title splits because Bowe refuses to fight mandatory challenger.)
    1994-1995: Ivan Drago (WBC)(retires)
1995: Evander Holyfield (WBA and IBF) (Decisions Bowe)
1996: Michael Moorer (WBA and IBF)(Decisions Holyfield)
1996: Lennox Lewis (wins vacant WBC title)
1997-1998: George Foreman (KO Moorer) (WBA and IBF)
1997: Mike Tyson (Tyson wins vacant IBF and WBA title that is stripped from Foreman.)
1998: Evander Holyfield (KO Tyson)(IBF and WBA)
1999-2002: Lennox Lewis (Decision Holyfield)(unifies titles) (retire)
2003-present: Mason Dixon (Former Light Heavyweight and Cruiser Weight Champion wins vacant title)

EDIT Rocky beat Drago and then retired which would change it to 1994 Drago 1995 Balboa and then Lewis would be pushed up to WBC champ for the 2nd half of 95-96.

        • I liked the movie, but i agree the fight scenes could have been more realistic. I mean Rocky could have it least blocked one punch.

actully it is is based on one of Ali's oppenet who was an underdog gave Ali hell of a fight but lost by KO in the late round at that time Sly was looking at the fight and when striaght away and wrote the script of the movie in 7 days.

Yeah if a real fighter fought like Rocky (never blocking a punch, just absorbing every single punch with his head) I don't think he would be alive right now.

He is and his name is Prince Naseem Hamed. The way this man dodged his opponents punches with his own reflexes was amazing.

There is another boxing media coming from Japan better than Rocky its Ippo i came into boxing because of it.

another thing if the movie is too realistic then it wouldnt be fun to see
