lol Believe me, I'd rather have DLH lose cleanly than have it be because he was paid to take a fall.
I'd hate him if he was indeed paid for that.

That said I think Hopkins was pretty enjoyable after the match.

How much money can could they have possibly offer him? The guy must be already wiping his ass with 100$ bills. On top of that, he was the underdog. So shouldn't it be Nard taking the dive?

Arum just gained Hopkins didn't he?
You heard what Arum said and how Hopkins and DLH all said the same **** over and over.
Plus, the shot didn't look that good no matter what was said.

Also, isn't the money always more in a rematch?
Especially when they just built up Hopkins and DLH more by giving Hopkins another win and DLH having his first ever knock out loss?

The first was the punch to the liver (called "weak" by some); the second was a right to the face. When Hopkins dished out the second punch, he was cradling De la Hoya's head with his left hand. Having said that, I'd like to point out that when De la Hoya rolled over on the canvass, thus making his face open to a camera shot, he was grimacing in pain, his expression eloquently indicating that it was the liver shot that got him down; not the Hopkins facial. That's how I saw it. Were my eyes deceiving me?

DLH is impressive - He took the UNdisputed middle champ 9 rounds, I thought he'd make it to 11 at leasy - but I'm knid of glad he didn't, he'd start looking like Joppy by then...

Why does everyone assume you have to be bribed to take a dive? Perhaps he just gave up and realized that a liver punch is the most "excusable" of all KO's. The punch looked weak to me and Oscar had PANIC in his eyes in the previous two corner breaks. You may also notice that Bernard really started to quietly goad him verbally and this may have caused Delahoya to start looking for a "HOLLYWOOD" way out.....
