Is it really so difficult to understand that a) he would earn at least double that for the Taylor fight, b) he'll earn around that for the Manfredo fight and c) given Palle's financial "issues" who's going to take any offer (and all we have is some comments made in the Danish press) seriously?

Now I can quite understand your disappointment that the greatest danish boxer ever will not get the chance to fight somebody, well, worth a damn. Not his fault of course but the division is hardly star studded and the only fighter of note out there has bigger fish to fry. Maybe he could have pushed on a few years earlier instead of his 35 or so warm up fights.

If Taylor really is not going to 168, then calzaghe has a serious problem. Because in that case his Manfredo reality Tv fight lacks a purpose. He will then find himself cornered to take Kessler on - and I assume Calzaghe will then proclaim that he will go to 175.

He has all his life had the goal of winning all 4 belts at SMW - untill Kessler occupied two of them... Now his goal is to beat hopkins record for most defenses, but only if he can avoid Kessler in the proces. I expect him to ditch that dream too - in order to avoid Kessler and instead fight Erdei or Woods at 175. His goal will then be to be two-weight champ - and since Kessler cannot be everywhere at once calzaghe will manage to find a way to achieve one of his goals without colliding with Kessler

You really shouldn't take anyone's "hopes and dreams" off a website too seriously. I can't imagine some spotty teen back in the day saying "My dream is to win all the alphabet titles in a division". Can you?

You're right though, if the Taylor or Hopkins thing doesn't come off Calzaghe has one big problem ... he might be being primed for the American market but there isn't much american competition at SMW or LHW.

Seriously though, you're doing yourself no favours with the Calzaghe is ducking Kessler bull****. It's not just your or this boxer of course ... most seem to be guilty of it. If Kessler was the best fight out there for Calzaghe I have little doubt it would be the one being chased ... sadly for your boy he's just another unproven Euro that Calzaghe has been derided for making a career out of beating up. Unfortunatley it's a bit of a catch 22 as the only name out there that could make Kessler a worthwhile opponent is actually Calzaghe himself. Gotta love irony.

Kessler's best bet is to get the hell out of Copenhagen, fight the top ranked challengers in the division (I'm thinking the likes of Froch and Bute here, and maybe Green for the US exposure) which would make a megafight for early 2008 impossible to resist for the Calzaghe retirement fund. Sitting on your arses whinging about how unfair life is isn't going to get you anywhere. Going to Sydney and beating up a rugby player is all well and good but your boy has to go out there and fight some live meat. I'll be interested to see how he does against his mandatory next - some seem to rate him although from what I've seen he's nothing special.

How many times has Calzaghe get out of Wales to fight some real top ranked challengers in the division?.Kessler is just as much a homebody in Denmark as Joe is in the UK so let's not spin it, and perhaps you also think Bika and Manfredo are live meat

Joe Calzaghe has fought more times out of Wales than inside. Fact.

So when will Kessler fight Froch or Bute, or are he ducking them also?

It's not my fault you don't know the difference. And there's a big difference as many of the more educated on here would know (and would scoff at your insinuation that Calzaghe is some sort of home town hero when he fights over the border).

Isn't Froch the same age as Kessler. I'd say if he are not ready by now he never will be ... and he's been calling him out for months.

Froch just looks like he has no defense.. he is always 100% in complete control of every fight.. he has the chin to make his style work.. decpetive speed.. and cruiserwieght power.. he might lose some rounds.. but he would win the fight.. If i were you i would stop with head slapping ... you are giving yourself brain damage
