If you are so desparatly trying to find out.... I haven't votes yet as I am trying to get a clear answer to my question..

What do we mean by greatest?
If accomplishemnt in their time, I would go for Marciano...
In terms of fight in the ring... I see any Klitschko beating him...
    Simple heh...

Seeing guys so firmy attached to nuts that they'd actually vote for Klitschko doesn't anger me, it amuses me.

Guys just like you see his name on a poll and they are so excited they just vote for the sake of it without even reading the question.

Greatest never means who would beat who. Different eras are not comparable.

Thus, anyone voting for Wlad is a joke. It's a shame his name is even listed next to Dempsey and Marciano, nevermind the sisterhood club actually voting for him.

WOW...Klitschko is named there with some of the alltime greats, they would feel insulted if they were here...

The only 3 options should be Tunney, Dempsey, and Marciano... and Tunney would be the obvious throw away of those 3. I lean toward Dempsey.

Seriously, you people need to be shot that voted for Marciano over Dempsey.

It's hard to vote for Wlad at this point, especially since he has been stopped a few times, although two of them were from exhausting himself.

I am not saying Wlad wouldn't beat Marciano or Dempsey, although I actually have my doubts about beating Dempsey since Corrie Sanders blitzed Wlad just like Dempsey would do.
I'll see in the future how much Emanuel was really able to change when I see someone try to blitz him again.

You can't vote for Wlad in my opinion, not now, but I think people are seeing if they would of fought eachother, which one was better, but you can't do that really because we are considering careers, not fantasy matchups.

or does it ask who has accomplished the most during their time?

In terms of in ring fight... I just don't see the 5'10 5'11 fighters beating the Klitschko borthers...
You have to go by careers, not who would win in a fight...although I am not really sure what the poll was fully about, but oh well, I can still see Dempsey as being higher.

I wouldn't vote for Tunney, great fighter, but he gets attention because he beat a past his prime, out of the ring to long, Jack Dempsey.

Odds are a portion of land near the Black Sea flooded really bad when a natural earth dam collapsed around the time period this story happened, killing many people and inspiring those stories to be written.

There is no geographical evidence that the whole earth flooded.
Yes, they most likely mixed/borrowed/stole stories...even the Moses story was taken from another story. Jesus, the same...Sampson, try Hercules...even Hercules sounds like the "Epic of Gilgamesh"

Although, stories/events do tend to repeat themselves...Ex: Atilla the Hun, later on Genghis Kahn....Alexander the Great, Napoleon....same goes for inventing/re-inventing: technology will be lost, then rediscovered by some Scientist/Inventor who questions and wants to make something better, or a Need for something.

But the fact is people do steal sotries and use them as their own. Just take the Blond hair, Blue eye, White colored JESUS...Or maybe he was, I don't know, I never met the man, so I can stand corrected...maybe he was a distant traveler from another land, or maybe he just didn't exist.

greatness as i would define it in boxing leads me to say dempsey, i favor him over marciano.. and if i look at dempsey as the greatest then i also have to give tunney as much or more "props" than marciano...

but most people are answering this question like were asking about fantasy fights... who would beat who in a superfighter tournament so to say?

as some people have pointed out i dont think that its relavent for a lot of reasons who would beat who cause look at it like this.

wladamir klitschko (how is he named and not vitali in the poll?) would get knocked out by dempsey IMO, but i also believe that wladamir would easily defeat tunney... but wladamir is no means as "great" as tunney by any definition.

i think vitali could beat them all 7 out of ten times... but he never did anything to define himself as "great" as many other past fighters did

Greatness is defined by who would beat who? In that case I'd favor Lennox Lewis against 99.9% of all heavyweight boxers of all time. I'd only favor possibly Ali, possibly Frazier, and probably Foreman to beat him.

Former heavyweights are too small compared to current HW fighters.
