I think Collazo can win a UD against Cotto. Collazo has also developped good power since his last fight.

Sorry, but Hatton was badly hurt in the last round

well that can happen when you haven't had much time to adapt and fully grow into the weight which you are fighting at no matter how good your chin is

He's probably a bit physically stronger as well...but I wouldn't say his punch is any stronger.

First and foremost the problem that Quintana presented Cotto was the height/reach/movement combination. He used it well in spots but Cotto was able to adapt. That's where Quintana fell apart. When Cotto switched to southpaw we got to see that Quintana didn't have an answer for that straight left and the handspeed. I think the reason that he was able to dissect Julio so easily after that flash knockdown is because Julio just kept coming with the same approach. Cotto was smarter than that.

A lot of people talk about how Cotto hasn't fought anyone yet (previous to the Quintana fight at least) and how he's going to be exposed once he fights a guy with style "A" or style "B". What they don't realize is that he's been fighting a lot of solid opponents...not world beaters but solid guys...who have presented him with just about every look he's going to see in a ring. Malignaggi and Corley the skilled boxers, N'Dou and Abdullaev the tough guys, Torres the puncher, etc. He has seen a lot of different looks so he can adapt...even if the guy is on a higher skill level than the previously mentioned fighters.

I think Cotto could figure out Collazo's frustrating style. Collazo is there to be hit in some instances when he likes to sit in the pocket and counter. We have seen that even Cotto's grazing body shots and punches that are blocked cause some damage. I don't believe that Collazo would like the body shots that Cotto would give him...Hatton was ****in his body and his punches are not nearly as lethal as Cotto's. I'd say Cotto by late TKO or close decision. Wow...lengthy post sorry.
I definitely agree with just about all of your post. My thinking is this: Jose Antonio Rivera is a similiar fighter to Cotto. In fact to me he's stronger but maybe not as skilled. He makes up for it with being tough as hell & yet Collazo was able to outbox him in a close fight. He took some mean body punches but also dished out as much himself. Cotto's moving up in weight & I wouldn't view him as the stronger man against Collazo. We know Collazo has enough pop to keep any Welter honest. Quintana had early success with his jab & straight left; if Collazo has that kind of success he can hurt Cotto not just because of power but his accuracy.

Yes he was and that's the first time i've ever seen Hatton looking physically exhausted and sluggish in a fight. He is a machine who can pressure his opponents for 12 rounds throwing ferocious punches almost non-stop, ask Kostya Tszyu. Fighting at 147 wasn't right for him at least on that particular night but it's funny how all the Brit haters love to remember that fight only when we could all just keep going on about Cotto-Torres or even Cotto-Corley- but we don't because we are not bitter ****s with extremely biased opinions. Hatton won that fight, Collazo lost, it was a close fight but he wasn't robbed.

Cotto TKO 6...Breaking a few ribs in the process.
