Now Everyone is Discrediting Clottey?

This is pretty ******ed.

"Margarito couldn't finish a 1 handed man" blah. That same "1 handed" man runs 10 miles a day and might be in the best physical condition of any fighter in boxing perhaps. If Margarito was fighting a club fighter who has a penchant for hookers and hard liquor....I'd say that would be pretty unsettling.

As it stands he won a tough fight against an as game as you can get opponent.

Yeah so that's really beside the point and brings out more Margarito haters. I'm referring to the idea that now Clottey has become hated on, and virtually everyone figured he was some sort of club fighter.

It's ridiculous to think that a guy who trains that hard, and has shown the flashes of quality was going to get knocked out by Margarito. Lets not even go there.....so just because he didin't "Finish" him that means "he sucks".

It's a flashback to the Cotto v.s. Corley fight on here.

The minute Cotto was stunned by a punch everyone made fifty threads about it and how he should just retire from boxing.

My point in my severe critique of Margarito is as follows:

For at least a year now all I've been hearing out of the Mexican fight fans were that Margarito is the most powerful, most feared, most avoided man out there. I forgot about it eventually. Then I joined this forum and ever since I joined here all I've heard is the same **** "Floyd's ducking Margarito" "Margarito is the real deal" "Margarito can take Floyd" etc... These ****ers used every single opportunity to push Margarito off as some messiah of the division.

I saw 2 fights of his before this, this was the night he was supposed to step up and stake his claim. Instead I see him covering up and eating leather from Clottey constantly until Clottey damages his hand in the 4th. Even then his so called "power" never showed up, and he came off as just another C class fighter. It's my way of taking all the bull**** that the Margarito fans threw at me and everybody else here for months, rolling it up and hitting them right back in the face with it.

He's average, at best. That said, I'm still giving him one more opportunity to prove himself to me with the Williams fight. If he looks against Williams like he did against Clottey, that's it. I'm done with it. The way I see it Margarito has no right to even mention Mayweather's name until he accomplishes something the likes of which floyd has.

i dont know if anybody compared him to a club fighter. its just its so hard to believe that margarito couldnt cut off the ring against a fighter who was reluctant on throwing punches.


Clottey was there for the taking. But margarito didnt step up.

What you should be asking is why did Mosley, Mayweather, Winky not accept a fight with Margarito. And why is Cintron waiting a few fights to have a rematch with Margarito if you and some other posters belive Margarito is hype?

I don't think anyone ever harped on his punching power man.

He's a big, strong guy who wears on you. He's not the kind of guy who is going to throw a Judah type uppercutt that has the potential to put someone on the canvas. The "punching power" is easily mistaken for size and strength hence making him a powerful guy in the ring.

Clottey is not the kind of guy who gets knocked out. He's in far too good of condition and he's also a guy who works hard on his footwork. Just by not knocking Clottey out he's a C class fighter?

Nobody in the division would knock Clottey out bro. Not even Floyd or Shane.

What you should be asking is why did Mayweather, Winky and even Mosley avoid a fight with Margarito, you should try and bring the heat no them. They are the ones that have to step inside that ring not you, so they backed down for a one reason or another. Margarito don't need you as his fan, no need to act like you care about the guy, just keep bashing him as you are.
