    cotto - mayweather a mismatch

i think cotto is too slow and economical to be a factor to floyd's welterweight reign. he would be able to dig in some body punches but it would be similiar to palamino - benitez where cotto would have his moments in the corners but floyd would eventually have his way and he would counterpunch cotto to a pretty clear points decision.

what are your thoughts on this potential fight?

I dont think so.. Cotto is a very acurate puncher and thats the kind of fighter that needs to fight Mayweather.

I dont think Floyd would be able to fight the same fight against Cotto that he did against Baldomir. Cotto will be able to cut off the ring, forcing Floyd to fight inside. Although I think Cotto will be able to hit Floyd with some good shots to the body, I do see Mayweather being able to counter with right hands. Its a tough fight for Cotto, and a much tougher fight for Mayweather than people think.

like i said - alot similar to palomino - benitez. benitez won a 15 round split decision.

Im a Mayweather hater but I think it would be a good fight.

To me floyd looks brittle, were Cotto looks like a tank.

If Cotto can land some bombs on the guy he just wont be able to take the pain.....But the thing is to land first and thats the problem.

Floyd would do exactly what Quintana should have done, he'll stay on the outside and constantly move. Once Quintana started letting Cotto inside it was all over. I'd have to give Cotto 2 more fights at 147 before I'd say he was ready to really challenge PBF. He needs a little more experience against fighters similar to Floyd.

the less mistakes Cotto makes in a fight vs. Floyd, the better chance for him to win....and we know how Floyd capitalizes in every mistake his opponent makes...

                8 rds to 4.. Mayweather...

If PBF hurts his hand he would be in for trouble.

Which is why I think DLH is gonna get him. PBF hurts his hand, and DLH has the fight. Cause he won't be able to dodge, duck, and just shoot one punch to keep DLH off. (Against Boldimir he just tied him up, backed him off one hand at a time) DLH would be on him with combos.

But back to subject. Cotto could get to him probably. Pretty accurate puncher, PBF has the speed and agility. Probably a tough fight for both.

I doubt Cotto could stop Floyd with just one punch. Floyd is ahead of Quintana in skill and speed. Floyd will have to come back down to 147 though after fighting DLH.
