hopkins humiliates tarver no matter what.
it's funny how tarver gets mad at roy (who WON) for using the weight-drained excuse.
tarver then uses it when he gets humiliated and dominated by a 40+ year old moving up 2 divisions.Comment

leonard did it, hearns did it, jones did it, fitz did it. i cant think of any other at the moment.
its more rare than you think.Comment

The best I can see happening is Tarver takes five rounds, instead of the 2 I gave him, and the 3 the judges gave him. So ultimately, no.
But the point still stands that there's a whiff of "boxrec bull****" about Hopkins's "achievements". People talk about his 20 defences (when really it's 19 anyway), but forget who those defences were against. If Robinson had the same opposition, would he really have done any worse?Comment

Someone should remind Calzaghe that Hopkins fought in a different division. If Calzaghe beats Manfredo, then he'll still be one shy of Sven Ottke's record for super middleweight defenses.WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe says he plans to surpass former middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins' record of twenty successful title defenses. Calzaghe will equal 'The Executioner's' mark if he defeats Peter Manfredo on March 3, a feat Hopkins has indicated an interest in trying to prevent. "If Bernard Hopkins doesn't want me to break his title defense record, then he should have fought me when he had the chance years ago. Breaking his record? When it comes to fighting me, Bernard Hopkins, like Roy Jones, is a BROKEN record. Just talk, talk, talk. There are a lot of great and exciting fights out there for me, but the only one that means anything to me right now is Peter Manfredo, Jr., because there are no other fights without beating him. But I will say this, I intend to break Bernard's record, with or without him."Comment
