    I prefer "bandwagoner", thank you.

BTW, I don't disagree....but 168 is kinda spars right now and Kessler definitely a contender for the title shot.

Now, belts aside, what the **** has Kessler done that makes him a must-have opponent for Calzaghe? Don't get me wrong, I want to see the fight, and probably will after Calzaghe gets his fight in the U.S assuming he wins, but who the hell has Kessler beat for Joe to 'duck him', Kessler has just beat an over the hill, PREVIOUSLY exposed fighter in Marcus Beyer, he beat an old man in Eric Lucas and a hyped up rugby player in Mundine, now tell me.. are wins against these three opponents something to be scared of?

Because ****ing hell, I know Calzaghe's resume isn't the best to date, he's no Roy Jones Jr. but it's a milestone ahead of Kesslers.. and if you disagree with me, **** yourself, because you're either a nuthugging Dane or a hater.

Because Kessler fighting Joe C would be the first Ring championship at 168, Margarito fighting Floyd offered no such unification. I garuntee you floyd would not turn down a chance to become linear champion at any point in his career and his 3 times hes won it has shown that, with the exception of a failed materialization between hatton/mayweather in 2005. Which ive already proven to you isnt his fault anyway.

Calzaghe is already the Ring Champion at 168.

Joe already is the ring champion at 168, this would do nothing for him except get recognition (they'll probably find another fighter to say Joe's ducking anyhow) from the haters, and he could tell his grandkids that he was unified champion at 168, which Ring magazine already has him as that anyway.

Joe Calzaghe/Jermain Taylor is a much bigger fight, who gives a **** about the belts? Winky Wright, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao have all proved that belts mean **** all for your career, all 3 of them are in the top 3 P4P and when Floyd decides to drop his WW belts neither of them will have a championship belt around their waist.

This is all correct, but in the grand scheme of things, taking a tuneup against peter manfredo is far more detrimental than fighting kessler, i dont give a **** about popular peter is supposed to be here, The kessler fight is just a better fight, and hes got a couple of belts. this wouldnt be a problem if he was going to fight taylor NOW or hopkins NOW, but hes going against Manfredo and this just do anything for him.

And yoru right, i forgot he was ring champ, i guess it would be the first unification at 168, my bad

Over their entire careers so far - I do agree that Calzaghe still has the upper hand. Hardly surpricing since Kessler has only stepped up to the top of the division for his latest 5 fights or so, whereas Calzaghe has now spend 9 years as a champ. But if you look at their recent opposition (say 5 fights) Kessler is ahead of Joe with a fair margin. Frankly i think recent fights are more relevant trying to determine who is better right now.
Add to that Kessler has looked far more impressive over those 5 recent fights than Calzaghe has - despite the very good performance against Lacy.

So call me a nuthugging Dane or hater all you want. I'm certainly danish, I'm also a Kessler fan and I'm sufficiently annoyed with Calzaghe that I can see why you view me as a hater.
On the other hand it amazes me that you can't see how you and a number of (other) british Calzaghe fans are not the least bit better, just from the opposite perspective.

The difference is I don't mindlessly spit out ducking accusations when clearly Calzaghe isn't ducking Kessler, Kessler isn't a must-have fight for Calzaghe.. Taylor and Hopkins are much bigger fights.

There's no such thing as a "must-have" fight for anybody. It's all about risk-reward - everyone knows this, especially Joe and Frank Warren.

The rewards ($) for both Taylor and Hopkins fights are obviously large, so it's clear why Joe would want a piece of that. The risk in a Manfredo fight is minimal, so it's clear why Joe would want that.

On the other hand, the risk in a Kessler fight is very high, and the reward is not. You can spin it any way you want (i.e. "he's ducking Kessler", "no, he's waiting until Kessler has name recognition", etc.) but in the end, it's just not a good business decision for Joe to fight Kessler right now, end of story. Sorry fight fans, but boxing is a business.
