Chavez at 130 was every bit as ferocious and hungry as Pacquiao; but he was a slower starter. However, you didn't go after him...you go to Chavez, you lose. You couldn't hurt him if you had brass knuckles under your gloves either, just ask Edwin Rosario; and that fight was at 135.....Chavez could have give you Chappo's wallet after the fight because it was a mugging....and Rosario was arguably one of the hardest punching lightweights who has ever lived, and a clever boxer. Chavez wouldn't let him breathe; he was closer to Edwin than a pair of his own underwear.....and he would have gone after Manny the same way. Also, when you're in close like that, it doestn' matter if you're fighting a southpaw or not...not as much as when you're boxing from long-range. Manny, being the warrior that he is, would have gladly traded with Chavez, who was more of a cumulative puncher than a one-punch artist, feeling he had the edge in power. Manny would probably box more from the outside; but Chavez knew how to make that ring shrink into a phonebooth.
The result, either Chavez by late round stoppage or decision IMO.
Chavez was just too much. pacquioa has never faced a fighter like Chavez.

It's not ludicrous to doubt Chavez a little, I was never too impressed with his opponent selection at the lower weights. He never fought a guy who hit as hard and came as fast as Pacquiao. It would be a crazy fight, and Chavez would be forced like no one else could.
