Funny, there were threads before with the same topic, and most felt(myself included), that it was sacrilege to put PAC and JCC in the same sentence.Much more having a discussion about a hypothetical match up.

But now, after seeing PAC improve alot and destroying everyone in sight, its now a "toss-up".

Hmmmm...I wonder how people will see this match up after PAC finishes his career.I think its unfair to make the comparison now since JCC is already a legend while Manny is just peaking...(scary thought)...

a great fighter who fought as high as 130, and did not fight any good natural 130er (and started at flyweight)

        vs

a great fighter who started at 130 and went on to win titles at 135,140 and met sweet pea to stop him from winning a title at 147

I am sorry but the laws of physics say JCC 9 out of 10 times.

Right now, it's hard to envision Pacquiao having any trouble with a 130 pound fighter who's goal is to stand in with you and trade shots trying to break your will, but let's look at it objectively.

Morales was most effective working to Pacquiao's midsection, and let's be real, Chavez was the best body puncher of all time maybe. Maybe only Olivares was better. Chavez is also a much better fighter than Morales.

The question is, can Chavez take Pacquiao's shots. He had a great war with ****er Edwin Rosario, but Rosario didn't come as hard and fast as did Pacquiao.

I'd honestly have to say that Pacquiao is up there at 130 and could compete with any of the greats at that weight. Pacquiao would win this fight IMO.

Chavez at 130 was every bit as ferocious and hungry as Pacquiao; but he was a slower starter. However, you didn't go after him...you go to Chavez, you lose. You couldn't hurt him if you had brass knuckles under your gloves either, just ask Edwin Rosario; and that fight was at 135.....Chavez could have give you Chappo's wallet after the fight because it was a mugging....and Rosario was arguably one of the hardest punching lightweights who has ever lived, and a clever boxer. Chavez wouldn't let him breathe; he was closer to Edwin than a pair of his own underwear.....and he would have gone after Manny the same way. Also, when you're in close like that, it doestn' matter if you're fighting a southpaw or not...not as much as when you're boxing from long-range. Manny, being the warrior that he is, would have gladly traded with Chavez, who was more of a cumulative puncher than a one-punch artist, feeling he had the edge in power. Manny would probably box more from the outside; but Chavez knew how to make that ring shrink into a phonebooth.

The result, either Chavez by late round stoppage or decision IMO.
