i agree. he does get repetitive at times, gets all hung up on one thing and his opinions are clearly effected by his own style of fighting as well. but he isnt biased on purpose, he really calls it how he sees it which at times differs from the rest of us but at least he isnt purposely sucking the house fighters balls like jim lampley. or just being an whining, disrespectful douche like merchant. all in all he is a decent commentator imo.

i would like to retract this statement. jim watt is horrendous and his performance on saturday was awful.

all he cares about is sheer aggression, anytime someone fights a a more elaborate fight than just walking in winging shots he thinks they are being hesitant.

He flip flopped mid way . First he was biased towards froch then towards end groves.

Jim Watt is a tool.

The first 6 rounds of Froch v Groves II he was bumming Froch. Kept saying Froch was bossing the fight. Which fight he was watching I do not know. I had Groves landing pretty much all of the clean eye catching punches and looking by far the smarter slicker boxer of the two.

Froch was just coming forward and flurrying. With a lot of punches missing and being blocked.

Then midway through the fight, despite there not being any noticeable change in the tactics and style of the fight, he starts to bum Groves.

How can you not like what Groves is doing for the first 6 rounds. But for the next two rounds you love what he's doing when it's the same thing as what he was doing for the first 6 rounds.

I am so happy that it's just not me!!hence why I had to ask this questoin again... Everyone has there own opinion and see things differently... I do try to look at things in a different light and take on board what others are saying....

But I believe he was terrible on fight night Groves and Froch just terrible

The main problem for me is it's obvious Watt doesn't actually follow Boxing any more. He always has no clue about the fighters he's commentating on unless he's commentated on them before.
