Thanks kebark. I was reading about Tanaka just the other day. That is a very impressive debut. Even more impressive than Lomachenko's debut. I read he won a decision, I'm hoping somone uploads Tanaka's debut soon. I can't wait to see it.

Less than week. I can't wait for this card. Anyone else looking forward to this?

      Yagashi vs Sosa
Inoue vs Mancio for the OPBF title
      Iwasa vs Shiino
and Murata and Inoue's little brother his making his debut.

Yaegashi Sosa should be a war and the rest of the card is full of talented up and comers.

I'd like to see Iwasa fight Kameda and if he beats him rematch Yamanaka in a unification. Their first fight was great, but I have a feeling Yamanaka would beat Iwasa again. He's improved since that fight and Iwasa hasn't been fighting the same kind of competition.

Your right about Yaegashi, he's the ****ing man. I wouldn't be surprised if Yaegashi Sosa ened up being foty.

I can understand doing this with a fighter that turned pro late, but Ioka is only 22 or 23. I guess in Japan is quality over quantity.
Anyways I would be interested in your thoughts about this.
Seen this kid fight and boy can he punch, plus he's in a division where fighters often fight for championships quite early in their careers.

He has already fought some decent names and is taking yet another step up in his next fight for a regional belt, I think he gets a title shot in 2-3 fights. Without a doubt he wins a title at light fly but I'm more interested in him moving up in weight, at 5'4'' he could probably make 126 at one stage, especially since he's only 20 and will put on more muscle.

He's eying up a world title fight next as he looks to set a new national record. Rumour is he's looking for a WBA title shot.

From what I understand it's highly unlikely that he'll be fighting Ioka (TV conflicts) however Ioka is rumoured to be looking at a rematch with Yaegashi in 2014 which would leave the title vacant.

Although ranked at #5 by the WBA in the last rankings Inoue will almost certainly be one of the people involved in a fight for the belt if it becomes vacant. His ranking is likely to improve courtesy of wining the OPBF belt, whilst he will also be helped by the fact Parra (#3) lost in November and Alvarado (#4) will be fighting Ioka on NYE.

With both Parra and Alvarado likely to drop down the rankings that would leave only Rossel (interim/#1) and Randy Petalcorin (#2) above him. Of those it's unlikely Rossel would be promoted or stripped (political decision due to the fact he's helping to create boxing in Peru) and Petalcorin has a date scheduled for early next year in Australia.

An Inoue/Petalcorin bout would be interesting but I dare suggest we may see Inoue v Miyazaki at 108 and Yaegashi v Ioka II at 112 some time in 2014. Oddly if we see those fights it'd be likely they would be on different cards due to the TV situation of Ioka (TBS) and Inoue (Fuji TV).

Another possibility is Ohashi/Teiken or Fuji TV themselves put up the money to get Adrian Hernandez (for me the weakest champion at 105) over to Japan in a WBC title fight. Inoue is #9 with the WBC and that's a fight that would make a major impression and maybe even open him up to the Latin American market in terms of future opponents.

To date Inoue has fought 1 Thai, 2 Filipinos and 2 Japanese opponents, maybe it's time he fought a Latin American...

Great news. I thought he looked good in his last outing, and IMO there is no need to rush him but if they make the right fight, why not? Inoue vs Miyazaki or Hernandez would be good fights for him and would be fun fights to watch, especially the a fight with Hernandez. Hernandez showed he's willing to travel too, when he defended his belt against Kompayak in Thailand, but that proved to be a bad move on his part and might not be willing to do that again. But who knows, money talks.

I read to today Luis Concepcion is now Yaegashi's mandatory challenger. Do you think they will enforce that and if he Akira wins then the make Yaegashi Ioka II? Or do you think they just make Concepcion sit in the side line like the wbc is know to do sometimes.

Whether Concepcion is the mandatory or just the #1 ranked contender matters not, Yaegashi has just fulfilled his mandatory and it would seem unlike his next bout would be one as well. Summer 2014 would be a perfect time for Yaegashi/Ioka II. Saying that though Yaegashi may be better off getting Concepcion out the way whilst Ioka has a non-title fight at 112.

I think Akira is the type of guy who would want to fight Concepcion and Ioka with out any problems, though he'd likely prefer Ioka.

Sounds like it will be Naoya's next fight, in April though no champion has been named as of yet as his opponent...fingers crossed I guess!

I saw that not too long ago. Thanks for posting the link.

I saw on boxrec that Adrian Hernandez isn't scheduled to defend his title against Janiel Rivera on Feb 8th anymore. Julio Ceja was supposed to be the co-feature and is still scheduled to fight that night but Hernandez doesn't have a fight upcoming bout listed on boxrec now. It makes me wonder if Naoya's team is negotiating a fight with Hernandez. He's been willing to travel to to Thailand to fight I think he would go to Japan for the right money. I hope they make the fight for April, it's a great match up and would produce fireworks I think.
