Actually, isn't he a Marchegiano hater, too? Don't tell me has some, "Dempsey is the king of the Whites!" shlt going on. lmao.

The dude clearly has some issues that led us to label him "Black Dempsey." Everyone seems to show their true colors when they post in the lounge, and it explains more about posts you see scattered around otherwise. Makes it crystal clear why he creates some of the threads he does and tells lies in the history section.

Case in point. I see he wrote this in his thread:

My president? Let me guess. By "my president" he means *****? I didn't vote for *****, nor did I even live in the country the entire time ***** was president and couldn't care less about American politics during the time. So what the hell is that all about? The poor Stan lives in a perpetual race war in his head. It's sad.

What else can he do but make a sister thread? Seems fair to me, if a poster wants to speak to a topic another poster who is using ignore against him started the proper thing to do is start his own thread.

I hear Jack ducked Godfrey as well though, if y'all want to continue the Dempsey ducked game.

I shouldn't have replied that way I thought T was on his usual tirade -- I was I guess actually replying to your first "that's fair"

Yes if course he should start his own thread that's why I replied. I respected his right by taking the time to point out he was wrong.[wink]

I'm going to do the old man thing.

I remember when we use to just have a president, not a ********ic President or a ********** President, just a President.

A six month election cycle and then we all had the same President.

When Nixon self destructed with Watergate we all hated Nixon -- people on neither side blamed the GOP, just Nixon.

This is 'my president' - he is 'your president' started with Reagan - that's when it became all political all the time with little leadership and no effective government.

It became the time to express your patriotism by announcing, every damn day how dissatisfied you are. We are now 40 years into this mess and we still complain on and on -- we didnt become great again what we have become is a nation of old women.

hahaha. When I read his comment I thought....well does he want this to turn into the "who did Dempsey duck" thread? Well ok

lol. I didn't want to make this into a political discussion either. But I just thought it was strange that I was accused of having ***** as "my president." Because I'm black??? That GhostofForgery is an odd man with some issues.

I wasn't trying to speak down on Dempsey. I clearly called him great in the opening post. My only point was that a great champion declined these guys, showing that in his eyes even he must have thought they were pretty special. Then I remembered his exact quotation about Wills where he explicitly called him great. So if his actions, and his words, seem to lead to that conclusion, I don't see the issue.

These guys were all great, including Dempsey. Clearly. Cherry picking fights, especially when so little are available and most are not even in fighters' primes and saying, "See, they weren't great" is a silly tactic.

And notice something about what GhostofForgery says in his thread. He doesn't mention Langford in the title, but he says, "Langford seems to have been the best of the bunch."

                What bunch? The Negroes?
lol. Just reveals that he made a thread specifically about black fighters. I wonder why

Been this way my entire life. I can see how patriotism has died in the wake of politicults, but, outside of maybe a bit in the 9/11 era, I've not seen real patriotism on television or in the media.

It's sad, politics turned me off when they started attacking American superiority. People point out like an anecdote or some such as if that shows the US.

It's sad to me folks around the world like to hate on the US while carrying a smartphone in their blue jeans and listening to hip hop while they drive their factory line car to their free economic job. Ungrateful, but, what really pisses me off is how Americans are much more willing to stand up to one another and argue over some **** like a boarder rather than telling a mouthy Canadian or some such they wouldn't even be a free state if America did not force the BE into the CW, let alone have that smartphone invented by our tax dollars, or those Jordans, or that rap music and if rap's not their bag the real King's music is.

Sam Langford when asked who was the greatest fighter, chose Jack Johnson.

I was sore at him but all the time, way down in my heart, I knew that he was a great man. The day I saw him beat Jeffries made me surer. Jeffries was in good shape that day. He never could have taken the licking he did if he wasn’t in good form. You know he was just as fast as ever, but he was like a baby when he boxed Johnson. I tell you that Johnson was so big, so strong, so clever. He had everything. He was never hurt, never had a black eye or a cut, and never broke a hand, and he beat the best in the world. I call that considerable doing. He was never even tired in the fight. He just fought his own way, went about it in a business like way, and made the other fellow look foolish. Hit? Yes sir! I never hit the floor harder in my life than the night he hit me. I thought I’d go right through the floor of the ring.”

Who else ducked Langford? I imagine spanning the weights he did Langford would have been happy to fight a MW for a MW title or LHW for a LHW title. I don't know of any stories where he actually did though. Everyone focuses on HW Langford and JJ ducking him. I didn't even realize Langford-Dempsey was ever a discussion.

                      Was there ever Grebb-Langford talks?
