Mark Breland talking about Hearns and Benitez

    https://*************/watch?v=XvF8glJEhkQ

Says Hearns would fake the right to get you to roll then throw a real right immediately after that you would run into coming back from a counter.

He also says Benitez is all brain damaged because he was jumped by thugs and beat with pipes, not because of boxing (that's what I got out of it).

Nice interview. One of his subtle points is that when you know a feint is coming it always presents an opportunity to hit your opponent. That is quite instructive.

Yeah for Tommy sounds like he would catch you reacting to the feint.

It seems plausible that Benitez would be brain damaged from stuff outside the ring not from boxing.

Why? I find it much more plausible that the major reason for his brain damage is the daily wars he had with his brothers.

In his prime he had a very good defense and was hard to hit clean.

Getting beaten with pipes would explain the brain damage.

You're the one who fabricated that lie for an ill purpose, don't get mad at me.

He learned his defense wizardry by fighting brutally with his brothers day after day. It’s the classic story. I’m not a doctor so I cannot say whether it was this or that or a combination of several factors that has caused his condition, but I generally believe that sparring is highly underrated as a cause for brain damage.
