The poster HOUDINI563 doesn't have a clue, nor has he seen 3 fights he's talking bout. I use primary sources here. I posted known writers and boxing people's opinion at the fight who sat ringside to watch Johnson vs Flynn. You can believe the people who were there or not, it's up to you.

I can say Flynn was behind on points, but that means nothing in a 45 round marathon fight, and was in fine working condition when the ref DQ'd him. Willard was also likely down on point after 9 rounds, who won that fight? See my point?

I think his point is that Johnson won easily and you are cherry picking opinions to fit your agenda. Would it matter if I posted opinions that he had no problem with Flynn. Hell, just find a copy of the fight online and the narrator repeatedly says Johnson was in complete control.

The narrator also says the sheriff entered the ring to stop Flynn from receiving more damage. The Flynn fight was indeed stopped by the police. I've also just read a full round by round analysis of this fight from 1912 and it was, as the headline called it, "A one sided mill."

Johnson beats langford in their primes. He beat him easily once he'd do it again. Johnson was bigger and he'd know what to expect. I believe johnson was light years ahead of his competition and often coasted in fights.

Again Dr Z aka Mendoza has a very very very long history of degrading Johnson at all costs. He has and will lie through his teeth in this respect. He is doing so in every post in this thread.

The bout with Flynn was completely one sided and was stopped by the police. The entire bout is on Historic Films and I posted it last year. Flynn did nothing but be a human punching bag for the entire bout. Johnson did not lose a second. The bout was described as being completely one sided by most writers who watched the bout live.

The O’Brien bout was for six rounds and the consensus of those who saw it was a DRAW. OBRIEN ran for the six rounds to last the distance and pecked and poked enough to win a few rounds. OBrien was a great boxer so nothing overly unusual here.

Again I could go on but everyone here is reading examples of the type posts this guy has been posting for many years. He has a sick obsession to put down Johnson because he read that Johnson hit his wife. I kid you not.

Hard to watch because of its quality but if you are diligent Johnson shows remarkable skills. The few times Flynn is able to launch a punch to the head it’s blocked as if it hits a brick wall. Note Johnson allows Flynn to punch to the body. He is free to do so BUT Johnson is muffling each blow by tapping and pushing at Flynn’s elbows and upper arms.

Although Flynn is complaining of holding the referee adamantly stated after the bout “Johnson was not holding. Flynn was free to punch at all times.”

Johnson was a master at controlling his opposition. Some real high end skills unmatched by any other heavyweight champion.

You don't even need a prime Johnson to beat any version of Langford. A quality big man beats quality small man and Johnson made mincemeat out of smaller opponents. Johnson was an ATG grappler and very strong for his size. I would even favor him over the mythical Langford pound for pound as well.

Note no mention that Flynn won a round of the bout.

Note all that is written is a one sided beat down.

I quoted several at ringside who felt Johnson was tiring out vs Flynn. What's wrong with that? They were three. I agree Johnson was in the lead, but 8 rounds means nothing when you have to go 45. A point you do not consider.
