The very reason I am calling you out is because you don't know. You have no idea. You don't watch Boxing. You've never been in a ring. You only parrot what others have written. Boxing to you is like the world of comics.
Lucky for you, I happy to educate you, and will tolerate your mental imbalance.

Dude you do NOT want to mess with Muay Thai. don't go anywhere near that. Back in the 70's Pajama Boys got cute and tried fight Thai Boxers. They got SPANKED!
Muay Thai is real fighting. It's not paying for belts. It's not robot dancing. It's not breaking pine boards. It's not screaming really loud. It's legit.
Thai Boxers, incidentally, have adopted a lot of British Boxing's techniques. They also have cross-pollinated from Greco-roman Wrestling. Modern Kickboxing is different than actual Muay Thai. It definitely utilizes Boxing techniques, like cutting off the ring.
I reccomend you watch some Muay Thai fights. But I know you won't. You'll just find more ways to use your time being creepy.

Yeah.... I'd say that.
If I were ******ed.
Anyone who's actually seen early Boxing matches (they're available on YouTube) recognizes cutting off the ring very much was a part of early Boxing. It'll be lost on you, but the way they fight is quite different from modern boxing. Some of that is owed to lack of refinement - modern techniques hadn't been honed yet. But it's also due to different rules and equipment, and expectations of fighters.
Boxing is an attenuated sport that grew out of no rules fighting. Wrestling, kicking, elbows, head butting... these were quickly culled from Boxing when it became codified, but actually adapting a form of fighting ideal for the exclusive use of hands required Boxers first acclimating to their new environment.
But fundamental to all fighting, however raw or refined, is trying to secure an opponent who doesn't want to be cornered.
Seriously dude, why do you discuss Boxing/Fighting if you have absolutely no desire to actually watch it, or train? That just seems like a tremendous waste of time to me. Like what's the point? You pull stuff out of your ass to look goofy. You make posts with references to articles from the latest edition of Reader's Digest to wind up on a table at your Shrink's office. It gets you attention, I understand. Is this your way of dealing with your daddy issues? Wouldn't you rather have meaningful, accurate, on topic discussions about Boxing?
