Just the ones I've spoken to that sent a group message to their colleagues at the IBRO. None had ever heard of film of that exhibition let alone seen it. Seems funny NO ONE but you would ever mention it either, doesn't it? Something like that would be monumental in the boxing world. But no one but you has ever apparently seen it. Get off the bottle and stop making stuff up.

        - - I've seen a plethora of IBRO members in forum trenches stumbling badly. One of them stopped watching boxing after the Ks took over some 20 years ago as a voting member.

He no longer a member, probably due to being a derelict serial drug and alcohol abuser now deceased or incapacitated, ie a grunt like U could join IBRO for the price of their "tuition."

Maybe they give U a little Post Toasties IBRO badge to wear like a sheriff of boxing...

Yet is disappears like Houdini on film vs. Willard and Moran who were two young and certainly normal sized heavyweights over 200 pounds. In fact Johnson clinching did do him any good vs the 162.5 pound skilled O'Brien or Journey man Battling Jim Johnson, who was bigger than he was. Hmm...
Johnson manhandled O Brien to the canvas several times,.Where did you get the idea he didn't clinch with him?You haven't seen the fight yet you are telling us Johnson didn't clinch?
Johnson sustained a broken arm against Battling Johnson ,pretty hard to clinch one handed. Absurd!

A "plethora" you say? Who? Do you have any names?

Who is no longer a member? Do you even know what you're talking about? And you can go on and on about who can join the IBRO all you want, but you can't produce a single link saying there was ever any film of an obscure amateur exhibition of these two great fighters before they were even great. In fact you continue to make yourself look more and more foolish.

I'm sure I'd be much better suited to join a research organization than you. You talk boxing through rum soaked memories, ya fruitcake.

I see you're in full fledged troll mode tonight and still unable to provide ANY evidence whatsoever. You must have started hitting the bottle early today.

Oh please stop with the excuses! O' Brien out jabbed Johnson who relied upon clinching expect he could not catch O'Brien. Several people who saw the match ( not you ) felt O'Brien was the better in a " news draw."

"Three or four times during the mix-ups, O'Brien was roughed to the floor, and once he got tangled in the ropes." (Philadelphia Inquirer). The Philadelphia Inquirer scored for Johnson. Wilkes-Barre Times Leader had O'Brien winning three rounds, with two even, and 5th round to Johnson (same report was printed in NY Sun and Washington Herald). The NY Times ruled it a draw. Trenton Times reported that the referee stated he thought O'Brien the winner by a shade. The Sports editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer in May 23 issue wrote: "A half dozen writers, for instance, gave Johnson the credit of having won the bout, but no two of them agreed as to the distance by which he won, and if you read all these accounts you must have come to the conclusion that he won at any distance from a whisker to a city block. And it was the same with the able gentlemen who espoused the O'Brien cause. Some declared that he won all the way, and that but for his willingness to take the initiative there would have been no milling at all, while others gave him the decision solely for the splendid showing he made against such a tremendous physical handicap." The Philadelphia Item stated that O'Brien soundly out-boxed Johnson. All-in-all, it seems that the best choice would be to show it as a draw.

This was vs. a prime Jack Johnson in 1909 at a good weight! O'brein as near his end. Advantage Johnson. Yet he was shown up by not even a super middleweight. The heavyweight champion of the world!

Oh right Battling Jim Johnson deserved to win that lineal title fight. You don't know when Johnson injured his arm. Ringsiders say it happen in the last round when Johnson was almost knocked out!

                    "
One ringside report said that the spectators loudly protested that the men were not fighting and demanded their money back. Jack Johnson said he injured his left arm in the third round and could not use it, but ringsiders said he used his left often and likely fractured it when both fell to the mat in the tenth round. Post-fight examination revealed a slight fracture of the radial in his left arm. In August it had been widely reported by Joe Woodman that Johnson had agreed to terms to fight Sam Langford in Paris. Weights per La Presse Tale of the Tape: 97kg Jack Johnson, 101kg Jim Johnson. "

Of corse you believe the liar Jack Johnson.

1.You have no idea what Johnson weighed he did not weigh in.
2.Ringside observers described him as "fat!
3.O Brien was floored in the first round.Source O Brien" A Neutral Corner"
4.Knowing the fight was a 6 round no dec Johnson had no worries about losing his title and did not train for the fight ,he was out partying the night before,he was described as," puffing like a steam train as early as the 3rd round."
5.Opinions were divided as to who was the better man
                      6. Jim Jeffries ,commenting on the fight said O Brien could make anyone look bad for 6 rounds, but over a longer distance it would be different.
7 The reaction to the result was ,"that there was zero demand for a rematch".Jack Johnson by Adam Pollack.
8,"I think I was slightly the better, but in a longer fight Jack would win." O Brien.
9.The fight was in O Brien's home town.
10.Johnson broke the radial bone in his arm in the 3 rd against Battling Jim and afterwards was seen to be fighting one handed for the remaining 7 rounds, anyone trying to seize on this fight to dump on Johnson is seriously in need of medical treatment.
11.The report of this fight you delight in posting about once a month on forums was an AP report by a NY writer who was not even in the country ,[France] when the fight occurred!
                      12. Ringside reports stated, the "champion finished the stronger"this is confirmed by Adam Pollack's research for his Johnson books.which have round by round summaries from several different newspaper reporters who were present.

Got any more footage of fights you have lifted from other posters and now claim on another forum as coming from your own,"private collection" as you did this thread, Houdini's Flynn v Johnson footage?
Boy were you exposed on that one! LOL
