I always liked Czyz as a color commentator. With all his mental aptitude currently he is working at a local grocery store in NJ as a bagger.

There is a big myth that indicates having the quality of brightness & High intellect, including a high IQ, correlates to conventional notions of success. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Christopher Langan, The man with perhaps the highest measurable IQ today, was a bouncer and ranch hand for most of his life...

What people fail to realize is that conventional notions of "success" do not apply to most people with these qualities. I can relate to something Langan once said about bouncing, as it was something I experienced: "Once you train your alertness, and know what to look for, deal with the music in your ears, you can get lost and work in your own ideas to your heart's content."

So while you may not make a lot, you have most of the time to spend as you wish.

With Czyz he had it all. Fame, success and great wealth. All gone. A bagger at Shoprite and living in a flea bag hotel. His fall has been epic.

It hurts to even hear that about Bobby. He was so gregarious and likeable. Punches to the head took it away.

As for Chris Langan, I have wondered about him for years. For a guy with the claimed IQ of Leibniz, he has exactly no accomplishments, which is a first hint to consider. He wrote a book (possibly still unfinished) which is 99% unreadable. I have seen parts of it. I would be more impressed with an actual accomplishment in a field he claims to love and work in, rather than his statement that his head is too large for any baseball cap he can find.

You cannot prove an IQ of 200 with glibness. Langan is mainly just glib as hell. He talks fast like Czyz did.

The truth appears to be that both he and Marylin of "ask Marylin," worked for Mega IQ societies and learned their routines well. They memorized the tests, taking them multiple times until they achieved the scores that satisfied them, scores they claimed said they were the smartest people who ever lived.

Czyz was also the victim of a severe trauma when his dad committed suicide way back in 1983 after they had argued the night before, and he said to him "you're dead to me". This kind of tragedy can affect one's psyche forever.

He was an abused child in addition. His father beat the entire family on a regular basis.

Here is the story of Cycz about two years ago.

Former boxing champion Bobby Czyz is broke and ringing up groceries. But he just won't stay down.

Yes, it is as if they realize certain things in life are not worth chasing. Christopher Langan, seems happy enough 'If it is the same guy, I watched a small documentary about'.

Yes, I would say that what we call success differs considerably. A person who is sufficiently circumspect does not value a good job, so much as freedom to develop and a job that allows one to evolve.

Czyz was a decent commentator. Shame someone hasn't given him another shot at doing that.

I'd rather listen to him than someone like Mauro Ranallo.
