Good times.
Spadafora??? What a waste of talent....

Interesting one. I remember reading about Tiberi and his fights in the Atlantic City Press. Didn't see his fight against Tony The Punching Postman Thornton but read about it in the newspaper after the fact. What's funny is I had no recollection of his fight with Toney; Sounds like it was it was highway robbery. Also didn't know Dave retired in disgust after that fight. Crazy.

Both Billy "The Kid" Irwin and Scottie "Bulldog" Olsen headlined so many ESPN and USA boxing cards that I watched....both seemed to dominate a certain level of fighter and it was a clear delineation when they stepped up in class.

Carbajal was a beast, I vaguely remember watching his fights but it was the wars against Chiquita Gonzalez that stick with me.

Spadafora frustrated me because he had so much potential. Sparring is sparring but I remember when the rumor was he dominated Floyd in some sparring sessions. He was slick, my family and friends appreciated his style more than I did...always wonder what he could have done if he didn't squander it away.

Ha, yep Scottie “Bulldog Olsen” was one also! Like u said I feel like I saw a ton of these guys. “Little Hands of Stone” Carbajal was a beast. This phrase gets passed down in my family when it comes to boxing, “There’s levels to this thing”. Still I’m happy to see the underdog get that paycheck. All those guys mentioned had heart. Thanks man, always nice to relate, and be able to mention some names that don’t always get their due.

                      - -******* Gomez known in Mexico but not in the rest of the Western Nations.

His 1 rd shootout vs Jeffrey Hill one of the best 1 rds in history starting with getting floored hard early. Scraping off the canvas, Hill knocks him staggering from pillar to post...R.I.P...but suddenly in his last gasp, he pulls out a punch for the ages to KO poor Jeffrey who was otherwise punch perfect.

******* fasttracked to Margarito after SissyBoyFloyd ducked his career offer and put him away post haste. Fight may still be on youtube.
