    Considering the colors chosen I suspect NYSAC had to dump this rule 20 years later with the advent of television.

    So who do you think had the 'best trunks ever'?

    I've always liked the very simple black trunks and white trunks. That's just me though.

      I also like the rather simple ones with the surname on it. Greatest looking shorts for me was the black with the blue trim worn by Holyfield against Qawi I think.

        I think Smokin Joe surprised a lot of people the night of Ali I.

        It took a fighter who everyone was calling 'old school' (in face of Ali's radicalism) to get away with going outside the box that early on (1971).

        Joe's trunks stole the show from Ali's tassels that night.
