There are always some sort of statistical trade off's, Usain Bolt's co-ordination & technique was not really that good in comparison to athletes such as Maurice Greene, Linford Christie and Carl Lewis etc

Is bigger always better? In depends, no point in making a athlete into a giant who is going to be deficient in certain areas 'There is not really one definitive answer to this thread'
Thats a good point you made, about different body types. I believe I read the same book that Ricky12 is referencing, and in it it addresses the differences in body types being an important aspect of sports (and how more athletes have sought specialization due to their body types). As you noted with the sprinter vs swimmer there are natural advantages to different types for each sport.

Specifically for boxing, I believe there is an optimal weight for each fighter to find balance. Just as there would be such a thing as being too heavy, there could feasibly be such a thing as being too light (or at least training too much for endurance and being too weak because of it).

A bigger jockey is not a better jockey. Athleticism falls off steeply beyond circa 200 lbs. for men. You get your football linemen and sumo rasslers, your weight lifters and shot putters from this slob patch of genetics. Now a shot putter is not as nimble as a pole vaulter. Valuev is not as nimble as Marciano. It is basic logic & observation. Marciano is not as nimble as Pacquiao.

So far, all behemoths who seemed to be athletic turn out to be steroid bulls or face serious accusations. Fury's concocted story of wild boar meat has recently fallen asunder.

70-74 inches is the perfect height for a heavyweight. Anything more is gawky. 200-220 lbs. is the perfect weight. Anything more is excess baggage. You think Marciano wouldn't KO Valuev?

Are you denying Vits lost to a fighter who took the fight on 10 days notice and flew overseas for said fight? Are you denying Vits only landed 8 more punches the entire fight in spite of being a half foot taller and 50lbs heavier? Are you denying his punches landed percentage was never as low before or after that fight?

What context!?? I saw an alligator tiny pit kill bigger dogs. He attacked their long legs. I saw it and tried to stop it. But fight to the death. Isn’t sport. No time to adjust or learn.. on the job..
