I'm hoping Joshua makes a better color commentator (if he eventually decides to go that route) than Lewis.
Does AJ deserve to be a more chrerished boxer in Britain than either Lennox or Bruno?

You've always been one of the most naive posters on here, it's always a huge culture shock to you when I tell you the reality about your childhood hero's and your preconceived notions about them. They were all using PED's from atleast the 60s onwards. Some more than others. Yes even Tyson the guy you think had too high morals to take PED's even though he beat 7 hookers unconcious, used his wife as a speed bag and then ****d a beauty pagent.
Your argument is child-like here. You're comparing boxers to the most drugged up 'athletes' in the world? Boxers just need enough PED's to quickly recover from all the brutal training, some go further and use it to gain size, endurance etc. But Mr. Olympia bodybuilders take so much roids, hgh, insulin etc. just enough that they don't drop dead although some do. Some of them are even what you described as "healthy". Lee Haney is fine in his 60s. Dorian Yates is doing good in his 50s. I could go on.
This is a heady issue: I agree with you. Everyone seems upset that the true way to level the field is to let the rule of the land come from common sense and experience rather than the government.
People...You cannot look at how athletes have changed and not seen that these substances have taken hold. To varying effects I may add. In football, it has created ubermen. You cannot look at a football team before two major revolutions, one of them involving steriods, and compare it to a team after. In other sports the changes are more across the board.
But there is a reason why a good semi pro pitcher, as a kid can throw 80 these days, and why pitchers clock in starting over 90...Catfish hunter threw 90 on his fastball! There are no finesse pitchers anymore, there are pitchers who change speeds, starting at what pitchers threw at the top. NOW do people really think this is training, diet and exerscize?
Boxers look and fight differently as well. I think lower levels of use, like to rebound, or to cure an injury are beneficial, but the type of fighters we see who get that physique are not better, and may be much worse actually.
And that is what would make accepting the use of these drugs ultimately beneficial. They would show a level where the danger, risk and the benefit is not worth the risk. The physiques that we see all cut up? are usually the work of roids...
The changes we see are not evolution, they are not nutritional science minus steriods... As far as ethics, think it through and BMK makes a lot of sense.Comment

Frank Bruno was and is more "cherished" in the UK than the other two guys, for several reasons. He seemed genuinely nicer, had that ****ney accent and was more working class that the other two, did panto, and has been given more slack do to his mental issues.
For that matter, 'Enery Cooper was possibly more "cherished" than any of the three. The lovable, bleeding loser.Comment
