That's a good point.
Frazier's real advantage here is his size and experience (maybe), everything else belongs to Dempsey. But there is such a thing as "too much of a good thing". Bootylicious Joe Frazier doesn't want to be too heavy with Dempsey. The guy who beat Machen up to the guy who beat Ali is who we're looking at.
I really like watching Frazier and Armstrong, but they are SOOO open to uppercuts. And Frazier starting slow, lacking one-punch KO power, and having a bob-n-weave designed to infiltrate stright punches, all work against him here. Also, he is sloppy compared to Dempsey, he does get a little loose and wild as the fight progresses and his opponents fade.
Lots of guys hurt Frazier. The problem was they were afraid to press the issue, preferring to use the opportunity to reset and refresh. That speaks to Joe's strength and relentlessness. He was one of the best at recupperating that I have ever seen. He really knew hot to "stay alive". But Dempsey's offense is insane. His footwork and head-movement are far suprerior. He's the exact OPPOSITE of the fighter Frazier excelled against.
