Art Hafey comes to mind as an excellent runner up, by Baal.

According to Lou Stillman and Ray Arcel, the hardest punch they've ever seen land was when a retired Dempsey got in the ring to "spar" Two Ton Tony Galento. The punch to his head could be heard across the gym.

Some of the hardest ones I've seen land were:

Left hook Liston landed on a prime Cleveland Williams in their rematch, that eventually led to the KO. I don't know how Williams ever got up from that punch.

The right hand that Robinson finished Graziano with was devastating. Sent his mouthpiece flying into the crowd.

Erik Morales ended Zarazoga with a straight right to the body that looked as though it went through him.

The shot shavers landed on ali was brutal as was the one that decked him in the 15th against frazier.

Recently the wilder brez punch was very powerful.

Marciano's uppercut on Walcott and Julian jackson flattening Herol Graham would be up there.

Let me set the neophytes straight. No man as small as Hafey, Jackson, Dempsey or Marciano for pure force can outpunch a behemoth hauling off with free rein.

The only smaller man with the acceleration and technique to compete with behemoths for pure force would be Tyson, perhaps. Foreman or even Valuev's free rein punch will probably ring the bell louder anyway, if they get their weight behind it.

Do you have an actual candidate for this one? I do, but not a specific punch. Huh?? Let me explain.

It was one of those that Foreman hauled off and smashed to Clay's body in Zaire. I have never seen harder punches than those landed.

                  Whaddya got?
                  Foreman's ..................

Tyson vs. Michael Jack Johnson and Tyson vs. Henry Tillman come to mind.
