  • What An All Star Team!

It just does not get any better than the All Star team I have put together for you, by God. This is a team I would face anyone with. It is the obvious All Time winning team across all divisions. Boy, am I proud of this one. By Sneezy, what a team.

    Rocky Marciano
    Billy Conn
    Harry Greb
    Mickey Walker.
    Benny Leonard
    Willie Pep
    Terry McGovern
    Jimmy Wilde

No one will be defeating my team. I have all the best with me, by God.

Not bad Lefty! Not bad! So you take Conn over Even the fighting marine? or the Jinx? I like Tunney because if Marciano gets hurt, delayed, you can step him up to heavy weight!

Conn over Tunney for me. By the sounds of it they weren't too fond of each other too.

Regarding the OP picks. Benny Leonard at lightweight is an interesting one. I think along with Joe Gans probably the most ahead of their time fighters in history. Would a match of wits that would be.

I'm liking Eder Jofre over McGovern that's for sure. Jofre was perfect and technique hasn't evolved since him so he's one of those guys that a time machine would be very friendly too.

This team would fare worse than Kentucky did against Texas Western.

For anyone who doesn't get it, look up the historical significance of that match up and then look at that list again.

Conn was plenty good but you really think he was better than Tunney?

I rank Tunneys career higher but strictly head to head I think Conn would have the edge.

              - -Sounds like you don't understand basketball ain't been around near as long as boxing and your teams mentioned had no all time greats on them.

Other than that transgression, ace reminder of a truly great athletic competition that transcended any all time great names needed as it should have been.

Boy, it is close between Conn and Tunney. Tunney would probably whip Conn, in my view.

I am fairly certain his post is a comparison to the racial component of the list of boxers, as he is comparing to an historic event that is most well noted for its racial impact
