Apologize again for all of that, homie! Never meant for that to take a wrong turn between us! Much respect!

Hopefully this doesn't set off the firestorm that Billeau has alluded to, but here is the word from the trainer that wrapped Dempsey's hands for the Willard fight.

“When I handled Kid McCoy I used to bandage his hands with a certain kind of adhesive tape. As soon as McCoy drew on the gloves, the tape hardened and, as a result, he was able to inflict unusual punishment. I wound Dempsey's hands with the same kind of bandages, which Willard inspected. The story that Dempsey wore aluminum pads over his knuckles is a lie. His bandages became hardened, no doubt, and that was why he cut Willard's face to ribbons.”

            Thanks.
Still sounds dangerous and against the rules.

Absolutely dangerous, but as far as I know, not strictly against the rules since the rules were so lax at that time. It was referred to as a "trick of the trade." I know Tunney, or his team, demanded that Dempsey not use bicycle tape for their fights.

Willard was very worried about the hand wrapping for the fight, as he only wore the bare minimum gauze and surgical tape and wanted Dempsey to do the same. I'll leave it up to everyone else to judge the morality on the part of Dempsey and his team.

                Understood. Thanks.
What do you know about Trinidad's wraps? Heard the same about him.

As far as I know about Trinidad, Naazim found that his hands were wrapped in a way that was illegal in New York. From what I understand, this was only about New York's rules, or something like that. I think he was found to have tape on skin, which was illegal according to the NY rules, so he had to be re-wrapped for the Hopkins fight.

                    Thanks again.
                    Maybe saved BHop's butt.
Was that ****m who demanded Margarito get re-wrapped?

I think to some degree it did help BHop. Definitely didn't hurt. Tito's trainer said they made him put all the gauze over the knuckle, which took away from Tito's power.

And yep, Naz had Margarito do a rewrap as well, but that was a little different since sheets of plaster fell out when Margarito had to be re-wrapped
