  • Who was more perfect: Sugar Ray Robinson or Ricardo Lopez

Obviously no fighter is perfect but both have been seen by many boxing aficionados as the total package, the closest thing to perfection in terms of technique, skills, ability, and overall well roundness. Who do you consider the more 'perfect fighter' in your opinion?

Just don't have an opinion, I have not seen him fight, will try to find a video - do you know what happened with the TD regarding Rosendo Alvarez, was the fight stopped on cuts?

Seriously? Lopez was a solid fighter but to compare him to TBE,
p4p King and the most complete boxer of his day and current times is ridiculous!

Why not find a meaningful comparison?

You’d be surprised with how much praise Lopez gets, especially with his superb skills. Besides the TD which was caused by an accidental head butted he was never beaten. I think it’s a valid comparison.

            Robinson obviously.

Lopez no where near that level.

Lopez was a well-rounded very good fighter. Not on Robinson's level though. Trained by Nacho, you can see a similar style to Juan Marquez, though JMM relied more on counter-punching. I would put Lopez on the same level as JMM, Cotto, Carlos Ortiz, and a lot of other ATGs.

Robinson way up there, but Lopez still an ATG

Neither compare to the great Joe Louis. Overall though, Robinson proved to have the better intangibles against better comp. Both were beauty to behold, at the end of the day, Robinson did it against better fighters for longer.
