Do most people tend to feel the end of that fight was legit? Forgetting that Sharkey was complaining about a low blow because you gotta protect yourself at all times, but it looked like the ref had yelled break and was starting to separate them when Dempsey threw the KO punch.

I think it is difficult to tell if the ref was yelling break or not, but assuming he was yelling break let me see if I can make an excuse for Dempsey.

When fighters are fighting inside as they were most fighters won't stop punching until they feel the referee touch them (in this case that was too late.) It may be that the ref started yelling break when he was too far away and had to take too many steps to get between the fighters and got there late.

If two classic boxers go into a clinch they can usually be be broken with a verbal command but when fighters are leaning on each other and ****ing it usually takes a ref's touch to get them to break. (Sometimes he's got to wedge himself in there.)

But then let me be honest; did anyone expect Dempsey to break on a verbal command if it wasn't in his best interest? (Except maybe Sharkey and god knows he shouldn't have.)

The guy who KO'd me had the hardest punch, the guy I beat was the best, etc.

In this case both Louis and Dempsey koed Sharkey.

I don’t believe the ref called for a break from a clinch. Dempsey landed three clean blows consecutively to the body, Sharkey recoiled in agony and Dempsey landed the KO blow.

Another very interesting point which blew me away when I saw it....the film everyone has seen if appears Sharkey while on the canvas is grabbing at his crotch in agony over the supposed low blows. However there is another film specifically just showing the scene of Sharkey being counted out (Pathe France filmed this). This film was taken at a different angle and was far clearer. Sharkey was not grabbing his crotch it appears here. Just trying to get up off the canvas but his body would not allow him to do so. His arms were flailing up and down trying to gain leverage to get up but to no avail.

              Hey what is wrong here?

The linked fight below is labeled Dempsey-Sharkey and there are drop cards supposedly explaining how Dempsey defeated Sharkey -- it may or may not be Sharkey being KOed but it is definitely not Dempsey doing the punching. Check it out something is very odd with this video. (Maybe it's Louis.)

Very strange mistake to make, as it's clearly Louis vs Sharkey.

I am starting to believe that is not Sharkey either I can't make these two fights line up. Does anyone see the same knockdowns, I can't.

The top link is Louis-Sharkey; the second link is the incorrect video.

P.S. If they are not the same fight maybe we found a lost film; then maybe I am just not seeing it.

In both links the two boxers are obviously Louis and Sharkey - and since they only met once, it must be the same fight!
