Hook I don't want to be tool here, but seriously did you say Ike is running away with it, come on Hook, Yes we all admit he was the classic waist of talent, with that said Ike has
1 good win against Chris Byrd,
I guess you can call David Tua a half a good win, but lets be honest I think Ike gets a leg up because he waisted his opportunity and it was recent.
Ike is not in the league of these other solid pugilists

Here is an out-side-the-box thought, what about Billy Conn?

His run up to the title shot in '41 included seven HW fights with two UD and five KO.

I could see Conn giving Marciano fits and out boxing a few more champs.

Conn is without question a darkhorse to beat several champs.

Hairs breath between Langford & Wills

Fought each other several times with Wills winning the majority
Doubt Langford would have made heavyweight in most of the ascending eras, but Wills most certainly would.
Dempsey freely admitted Harry would've been too strong. He was a three time winner of what was then
The Coloured Heavyweight Championship, so he edges it imo

I thought the same thing lol.

Lets say Young was not robbed against Ali and Foreman?

Young actually got the decision against Foreman. Deserved it too after the storm he weathered in round 7.

The Ali decision was a bit iffy. A draw might have been more fair. That said, Ali was not on form that night at all, his weight was poor too.

But Young had a great record in the 70s. A draw with Shavers, two decisions over Lyle and his loss to Ken Norton was very narrow. Add these to the Ali and Foreman performances and you've got a very underrated heavyweight

Nice call. P4p Conn is a bit underappreciated in my opinion. He ranks decently on most lists, but doesn't get the adulation he deserves given his resume and starting his career with no amateur background. One of my all time favorite fighters. Just wish there was more footage of him.
