Patrick Ford was awkward, and was a different puzzle. Nelson did well considering he took the fight on short notice, then went on to greatness after getting stopped by Sanchez in the 15th..

Him trashing Sanchez is one of the most surprising things someone so respected and knowledgeable and fair from the boxing world has said from my experiences.

I got the impression he didn't really care too much for Rafael Marquez. I went to Rafa's fight with Esquivas and after the fight spoke to Nacho and he said he only took Rafa back and agreed to train him again as a favor for Juan Manuel due to how much he respects Juan Manuel. He didn't trash him as a fighter but more his professionalism and attitude.

If I was to guess Nacho's favorite fighters I'd say it's Juan Manuel (I asked who's the best Mexican fighter ever while Marquez was warming up in the ring he just pointed), Gilberto Roman, Chavez and Hopkins who he's referred to as his idol. I think he has a clear idea of techniques, punching technique and combinations and Sanchez sometimes did throw arm punches and punches in bursts not pure combinations like a Marquez or a Lopez for example. Of course Sanchez had qualities that those guys didn't have so perhaps its style and something personal but I'd say more of a style preference.

Marquez has a much cleaner punching technique. It would be a close fight. Sanchez could outwork him but my guess is tht Sanchez brings the type of fight out of Marquez we saw more consistently at the 130-135 divisions where Marquez exchanged more. Castillo had the speed and boxing to trouble Sal but not experience or stamina to win 8 rounds. Marquez could and IMO would.
It would be great as both are phenomenal fighters and all-time greats.
