Freddie Roach's Claim on Miguel Cotto

He says Cotto is the greatest Puerto Rican fighter of All-Time.

While Cotto is the first to win four divisional belts from PR, I strongly disagree.

I think prime Trinidad does a job on him at 147, 154 or 160.

Skill wise he is right up there with the best. Plus his fights against the likes of torres, mosley, margy, pac will live long in the memory. He also beat martinez.

But I'd have to go for Tito or benitez at the top.

I guess Puerto Rico beats Rhode Island in most divisions after all.

          Cotto isn't even top 3

Trinidad would end his life in under 3 rounds ( and thats being generous)

            A KO win most likely.

            Under three rounds? No.

It would be second half of the fight.

Trinidad would stop Cotto, but not in 3 lol. There were fighters not even near Cotto's level that lasted longer against Tito.

The fight would be competitive, but eventually Trinidad's size and power would be too much for Cotto, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto knocked Trinidad down as well.

People underrate Cotto's boxing skills way too much in these fantasy fights.

Has a long way to go to be considered the top PR fighter and he does not have that kind of time left in his career.

                  These men are all better than Cotto;
                  Wilfredo Gomez
                  Carlos Ortiz
                  Trinidad
                  Pedro Montanez
                  Wilfredo Vasquez
                  Hector Camacho
                  Jose Torres

Cotto is a good fighter but he is not an elite boxer by any means. What top twenty weight class is he in?
He did well against Shane & Zab but was shut out by the current era's elite. (Floyd & Manny) He beat Sergio who was a shell of his best.
Nice little fighter but he is not an ATG.
Freddie Roach did a great job reviving Cotto and deserves
                  applause for his work.
