He wasn’t past prime when all of you were in the prediction thread saying he’d take Fury out easily.
I think he was well last prime. Pulev is a bad example because outside of his jab he is very average. I've said this for a very long time now.

Golota lost just about every major fight he was in.

He arguably beat Byrd and Ruiz. But yeah, he'll always be a big never was.

Any unbiased, knowledgable boxing fan who has watched Klitschko’s earlier fights will see the exact same deficits that were on display against Jennings and Fury. He struggled against Jennings because he was forced to fight within the rules under the strict supervision of the NYSAC. He wasn’t allowed to mug and foul his opponent in order to wear him out and instead was forced to box where he showed how truly limited he his. He was nothing more than a fraud who after being pounded out by journeymen and never was from the 90s, ran to Germany using a house ref and control over the german boxing commission to initiate the most hideous illegal fouling tactics ever witnessed. He had to rely on cheating to barely stay ahead of the worst HW boxing era known to man. He reduced what was once the greatest prize in sports to a disgusting farce relegated to Eurosport.

Here's a run-down of Wlad's legal skills: Jabs , throws straight right, throws lead hook.

So, does Golota have the ability to outbox someone who only knows the rudimentary basic first three punches you learn and illegal clinching and leaning, mixed with ill-advised darting back in a straight line because he's so tall it works against limited stationary punching bags? Great question. How could anyone outbox this master of pugilism? Wonders never cease!

The Lou Duva trained Golota of the Bowe fights who had a full array of boxing skills would absolutely thrash this bum.
Additionally, the Lewis fight can’t be used to detract against Golota opportunities here as Lewis was 10x the fighter Wlad is. He would’ve taken out Wlad in moments just the same as he done Golota.

I suppose Ray Leonard was prime against Terry Norris as well.

I don't think anyone would dispute Golota would have the physical skill to win, just not the mental skill. He's good for a while, but then when he's struggling a little or even when things are going really well, he can't handle it and starts to foul his opponent. So he'd most likely be winning on the score cards, but then lose by DQ after either some shots to the groin or biting too often, both of which he has done.

And yeah, about the clinching, very true. Almost as bad as Sven Ottke having refs and judges decide things in his favor to stay unbeaten, from what I've heard. Opponents could also move away and nail Wlad with a good shot, maybe use some movement to avoid the clinches and making him pay every time he tries to grab. Probably what Fury did, as I haven't watched that fight yet.

Wlad was just as big if not more of a mental weakling as Golota. He crumbled everytime he faced adversity(Purity, sanders,Brewster Williamson, Fury etc) He illegally wrapped up and carried his weight on turtle footed bum Peter, even Harold Lederman was calling for him to be DQ’d , deliberately tackled out Thompson’s injured knee when he was struggling same as Fury who he reared back and head butted when he was getting schooled. The examples go on and on.

Ottke is a good shout. I watched Sven Ottke have the exact same coddled pampered career where guys were brought over and their chances of a fair opportunity of winning were next to zero.
Brewer , Tate , Mitchel , Johnson all beat Ottke and were sent home with losses. Robin Reed like all of Wlads challengers was not allowed to lay a glove on Okkte was threatened with a DQ loss every time he did.
Ottke weaselled his way through a ten year title run unbeaten with the aid of special treatment from corrupt refs just like Wlad.
Both of them wouldn't have lasted long on their own and you saw that with Wlad during his career in America.

Felix Sturm was another manufactured pampered champion whose lucrative TV deals kept GGG locked away in a box for the better part of 5 years. They created a belt for the sole purpose of keeping him on the back burner.
The list of injustices theses 3 frauds are guilty of is practically endless. And in my opinion Wlad was the worst of them all.

True about Wlad, but I see Golota getting DQed for something even worse before Wlad could be for clinching.
