Nunn wasn't very good to be honest.

I don't rate GGG that highly but he'd have enough to beat Nunn more than likely.

Mike won against some pretty experienced fighters but after his loss to Toney he moved up to 168 and he wasn't as effective there. He was only stopped once in over 60 pro bouts and he was NOT featherfisted! You can't fight 60+ fights and only get stopped once if you have NO punch.
People on this site who use expressions like "bum" and "featherfisted" obviously have no clue of there meanings.

Nunn had a lot of reach 77" and height 6'1" over GGG 5'10", 70" reach. The problem for Golovkin is that Nunn is capable of utilizing those advantages and if you can keep Golovkin resetting his direction his feet slow down and he takes longer to cut the ring off. Nunn is capable of stepping to GGG as he rests. Thats something Danny did not try to do and I do believe Danny felt Golovkin and thats what made him cautious.
That being said Nunn would have a shot, I think he's a bigger problem than Jacobs presented. Jacobs a little more pop and Nunn a lot more experience and much faster. Pretty good fight!

Not with Sanchez in his corner he can't. With a trainer emphasizing aggression, the odds are better.

Ditto. The guy could fight and had that speed that translates into power, in a manner similar to Jones... KALambay Barkley and Starling, Curry... Of course there are always the Ian Barkley haters lol. Dude could fight was an excellent middle weight. He was winning against Toney as well, so its not like he was outclassed in that loss.

                "Why on earth not"?..........................

because when your a main event fighter who comes to the ring without respect you get your azz handed to you!

Theres a reason Leonard moved as a young fighter until he was taught how to punch by Duran.
There is a reason Mayweather ran as a welter because his power was limited so his eye/hand and reflexes were needed to keep him out of danger (even though he never fought a big puncher) don't anyone suggest that Maidana was a big puncher, he wasn't.

Nunn was a good boxer/puncher he was a high caliber contender who fought very good competition.

What about Canelo, Ray? You don't think he's a big puncher?

No - not necessarily. Several boxers with no punch to speak of went on to become world champs/HOFers.

No not when he fought Floyd. He has leaned how to maximize his feet, shoulders, waist and elbows since Floyd.
He was not a good puncher then, if he was Floyd would have past.

Sure there's been a few, Pep wasn't a big puncher but he was THE best boxer at featherweight in history!
There's always exceptions but exceptions aren't the rule in boxing. Nunn wasn't great and GGG isn't great but I want to be the guy with the power. Power always has a shot at winning.
