I remember a presser where the writers kept asking Toney about his weight. He finally blew up and challenged each one to a spar that I saw as a feeble response, but worse, none of these tough guy reporters took him up because Toney was the veritable Apex Bully, and that silenced them.

I'd have been overjoyed to take him on. Feet stuck in molasses with a mouth stuck in the sewer, would've been a walk in the park. Every clip I seen of him sparring he looked helpless because he was always way outta shape, the whole reason the writers were badgering him to begin with.

We've had some great Korean champs, likewise Japanese, Thais, and Filipinos, but only a few nondescript teensy Chinese beltholders. What's up with that?

Interesting - the chart where I looked didn't even have numbers for North Koreans but what you say makes perfect sense.

Ever look at one of those 'earth at night' light maps from NASA - compare North and South Korea? The triumph of a market economy over a command economy couldn't be better displayed.

Better nutrition is implied by all that light.

Nutrition: I think African-American athletes have become evolution's human masterpiece. I always figured that the best thing we could do when the LGM finally contact us is to send them a pic of L. James and say "we all look like this, back off."

I wonder if Toney or any other black guy would feel that way if a white guy was corrected when they got a black guy's nationality wrong? Like saying someone is Jamaican when they're from South Africa and the white guy saying the same thing as Toney did above? Somehow, I don't think that the white guy would get a pass. I guess it's okay to be racist if you're not white though.
