    Toney was a joy to watch.

    The catch-and-shoot works very well off the "Philly shell" because it adds curved punches into the mix along with the usual straight right hand counter.

    It's a different enough angle and pattern that the opponent can get confused when trying to anticipate which direction the punches are coming from.

      I love toney's style...

      But to be fair, Barkley was tailor made for him.. Anyone that stands in front of toney and punches away will get bombed on by toney..

        Well, Barkley was not only passed it but Barkely isn't even good anyway.

        It's the equivalent to Mayweather battering Arturo Gatti.

          Depends.

          Sosa, Tiberi, Thadzi and others all had success beating him up with that style.

                    So you don't agree that Toney was pugilistic poetry, then, right?

                    It's fine if you don't. We all have our guys that we dislike and think are overrated. Toney just clearly happens to be one of yours.
