You implied it with the above quote....you also implied losing to McBride would also be a factor.....you also implied losing to douglas proves he loses to Liston ,when you couldn't even figure out Douglas was 6'4 with an 83/84 inch reach himself who used footwork on the out side ,he wasn't a slow lunger and not nearly as hittable as Liston would be....and you made that soley knowing Tyson was off that night ,meanwhile propping Liston up for beating who exactly? oh yea Patterson who you claimed fights JUST like Tyson.....the hard truth is you really don't know anything and made illogical comparisons to make a win for Liston which is fine if one wants to use your examples however it makes them this as well.. ....

Liston would have an outstanding reach advantage. If his jab hits you anywhere it throws your rhythm off. His fists are like stone age hammers. Both men have a lot of muscle in the right places. Tyson will have the handspeed advantage throughought and the footspeed advantage for a while. He was not a good in fighter. If Liston survives the initial attack, which I feel is likely, he will be very dangerous to a flagging Tyson.

I think that would be Ali! Also I've heard some rash about Machen, Machen was a very good fighter with a pedigree in boxing. His Dad and his grandfather were pro fighters and Machen was a well respected man by all in boxing who actually knew of him.''by the way Paterson & Tyson were trained by Cus and neither could fight inside to save their spit! Neither could fight on the outside too, if they couldn't attack on angles they both were in trouble!

Listons over 81" reach makes him the "bigger" fighter because he knew how to use it!

All this stuff about Tyson's speed and ability to slip past Liston's jab every time is nonsense.

I saw Tyson getting hit by a journeyman Ribalta, and even an over-the-hill Pinklon Thomas hit him with jabs and one-twos. Both of whom lasted longer than the "three rounds" some of you are saying Liston couldn't last. Those guys had no power. Liston did have, lots more power, and MORE SKILL, and longer arms, and was at least as fast.
