    Thanks. Bernard Hopkins uses that trick of a false center line. james Toney often used his front shoulder to catch punches before countering, something Archie Moore did as well.

      Yep. All this emphasis on conditioning, yet so few of them can even last 10 or 12 rounds, even though past fighters could go 15 and even over 20 before that.

        I've always been impressed by LaMotta's balance, jab and defence. I do think his offensive weapons were limited though, mainly because his overhand right was not of a high quality. Was LaMotta naturally left handed? I remember reading an article about his trainer saying that it took ages for LaMotta to learn to straighten out his right hand.
