I can't see anyone beating SRL today 147-155 Caneloweight.
Floyd might have beat him. But then I'm thinking about the younger, lighter Floyd who still pushed on offense. Sugar Ray Leonard was a considerably bigger guy. Maybe too big at welter for Floyd. Even so, to me it's not a given that Leonard wins.
Golovkin at 160? Presumably Leonard would not get the same freebies from the judges and announcers that he got against Hagler. I mean, before the fight, some people thought Sugar Ray was going to get killed in there. So when he was able to survive, everyone was all a tittle over it. Moral victory right there.
Today's Golovkin would beat the Leonard we saw against Hagler. Possibly by decision.Comment

I think duran prepared mentally and physically to come up with a performance he could never duplicate latter. Duran dictated the terms of the first fight because he was physically capable and talented enough. Ray fought to survive early after being hurt and fought courageously. In my view both men's legacies improved from that fight despite the loss on ray's record.Comment
