    Duran vs McCallum 154

I have to admit this is a fight I have not even thought of before. But it does seem like an interesting matchup.

Would Mike simply be too much, or would Duran find a way and possibly even rise to victory?

McCallum is too big and skilled for Duran at 154. The only question I have is whether it goes the distance.

Depends on Durans status going is he in desperate mode as before barkly, leonard 1 or in celebration mode as after the leonard 1 and hagler fights either way Mike is a immense challenge but he loses easily if he does not take him seriously.

I conduct mythical matchups when both men are at their best, given the weight constaints.

          Mccallum......

          Probably by late stoppage...

Duran isn't beating anyone elite at 154... He can beat solid, world class guys, but is too outgunned vs a prime elite guy like mccallum..

I could see mccallum breaking an older duran down with bodyshots late and duran getting clobbered late in the 9,10,11th rounds, similar to tszyu-hatton... Pretty good fight until the later stages where an older great fighter just gets worn out..

At best I can see duran being as competitive as he was vs hagler...

Great match-up. It would be a chess match with both guys waiting on the other to make his move, i see Duran coming on strong from 10-15 and taking a close decision in FOTY

I think McCallum takes a clear decision, but definitely disagree that he would stop Duran. He's much too savvy to break down and McCallum doesn't have the power to stop him ala Hearns.

McCallum just too big, too much of a proper 154 pound great though. Probably a little like the Hagler fight but McCallu would impose his greater size more so than Hagler did. Would be a great, very skilful fight to watch though.

                McCaullum

This one might go longer than the Hearns vs Duran bout, but not by much, Mike has too much all around, but definitely too much Power, he will catch Duran and put him out.

Too big? Maybe... To skilled?! Are you out of your mind? Duran was one of the most skilful fighters of all time. In reply to the OP it depends whether Duran trained hard or not, if it was the davey Moore Duran, Duran would win.
