Firstly Hagler is no way bigger than McCallum. McCallum is a couple if not more inches taller than Hagler... i can remember Sugar Ray Leonard in the build-up to his fight with Hagler, "Marvin does not scare me, i am Bigger, taller, faster, more skilled, more durable than he is"... Well i feel McCallum is also all those attributes better than Hagler...

Great fighter that Marvin was, i do not rate him anywhere near being a Top 5 Middleweight.. Some do, but not me.
The reasoning behind me not rating Marvin as Top 5 is his short height, slow hand-speed, poor ring generalship (cutting off the ring) only average one-punch power...

    Top 5 for me:

    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Harry Grebb
    Sam Langford
    Marcel Cerdan
    Carlos Monzon

    Marvin Hagler - Ranking 10-12

McCallum was a very good technical fighter. good enough to beat other excellent boxers like Don Curry, Watson & Graham. Able to nullify devastating punchers with skill and ability (Jackson, McCrory, Toney)..

McCallum was a 15rd fighter just like Marvin Hagler was. Both had incredible punch resistance and could come on strong in the championship rounds.

IMO i just give the edge to McCallum each time i try to envisage them fighting. Due to McCallum being technically better along with his physical advantages.

I am in no way putting Marvin Hagler down, He was a truly great fighter from 1980-1987 Yet i feel his bout with Roberto Duran showed to me that Marvin struggles with other elite fighters. If Hearns breaking his right-hand in the opening round is taken into account, then Marvin Hagler comes up short. and lets not forget he was an incredible physical speciman, but retired at only 32yr old..McCallum fought at world level when 40yrs old
Just because someone is small in height for the weight it doesn't mean they're not big for the weight. For example Caballero is like 6 foot, qawi 5'5 which one is the bigger man?

hahaha @ McCallum being faster than Hagler.

Waiting for Sonnyboy to reference Duran saying "You aint no marvellous" once more.

Hagler is one of the finest boxers I've ever seen. ability wise, he is definitely in my top 10 of all time..

That said I rate McCallum extremely highly too. He's just a slight notch below Haglers class, and in fact may even be regarded as on par had he got the fights with those men. McCallum was super sound technically, and had a cast iron jaw so i dont see him getting stopped here.

Yes without a doubt Hearns would have won. Steele took Hagler over to the corner to be looked at by the doctor, Marvin was covered in blood from cuts above and below his eyes. There was not 2 more round in Marvin before the fight would have been stopped... It is plainly clear to everyone, that when Hearns came out in the second round he was a one-handed fighter.

What must be noted about Hagler vs Hearns is Marvin ran from a rematch. While Hearns pressed for that rematch.

Once again you ask me about Lewis on a topic which has no relevance to him.. i rank Lewis 12-15 All Time. i would take the 10 fighters below to all beat Lewis along with one or two others. This is just my opinion and not carved in stone.. If you and others rate Lennox high all time, then that is your prerogative. but i cannot see how he can be ranked above any of them.

This guy is so agenda driven its bizarre. No one can be this delusional.

Hearns had a good first round but the rest of that fight was basically all Hagler just chugging forward and breaking Hearns down. yeah he got cut pretty bad, which could have led to a stoppage soon after, but he had Hearns hurt and he finished him. Like how can you dispute that win?

And I'm a massive Hearns fan too. In some regards i hold him as the best of the fab 4 for his jab and power, and overall boxing ability.

That's fine, I rank him about top 10. I don't know where you thinking I ranked him higher than that came from.

Look at Hagler's footwork and movement in this gif. He's doing so much technical work in these few seconds and his feet/brain/body react accordingly to perfection, he doesn't lose a step. What a machine.
