    Tyson Fury vs Jess Willard

Here is a match made in...well, somewhere. I expect big Jess to put a stomping on the ****** traveller. Jess had a decent jab. Fifteen rounds in the Ohio, fourth of July heat. I just see nothing in Fury. In fact, I believe dopin' Davey Hayes could have a point. The traveller will not dare step in the ring with Vlad the impaler, for all his blab.

No takers? Everyone must agree with me.

Jess Willard was a big lump of crap - he'd have taken a beating from Fury without question.

The ****** traveler is neither in my humble opinion. He has a great task master in peter Fury and is actually working on something that the heavies seldom seem to do these days: How to box. Fury moves well, he came up from fighters and someone taught him that skills matter, hence he can fight on the inside, jab and use his weight.

Fury is young and learning and may well suprise. I think he beats Vlad and by all accounts we will soon see.

Willard had skills. There were some that thought he belonged on a very short list. hard to say. Lets give Fury a few years before this fight happens....

So did Tommy Burns and Primo Carnera. You can't fake all your way to the top.

And they had the guts to share rings with Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey and Maxie Baer.

Most of us wouldn't like to share that experience. So also these not-so-respected champs should be considered great warriors.

I think Wlad might take the fight with Fury. Wlad will land a couple of shots and hold and move away when a hard punch is coming and hold if he gets hit, which should win it for him, especially if it's overseas and it goes the distance. He just needs Fury and Wilder and then he could retire.

I believe he is a ****** traveller. I know his daddy is one. Maybe now that his proud daddy is back he can show him how to de-eye an opponent. Travellers are scum of the earth who rip vulnerable old people off, and now vulnerable young people. Fury looks skillful against ham & eggers. He has not fought anything else IMO.

                if

Fury wants to win he has to risk it and really go after Vlad, no doubt. He ahs to knock him down and assault him, put his weight on him and fight him inside every round. But Fury moves and will not be a stationary target like Pulov.

I disagree sir Lefty. Cunningham was no slouch and neither was Chisora. One irony that bugs me is that IF Fury had fought and lost to Haye he would have learned a lot in that fight. As it stands he could still use a decent opponent to tune up.

I don't think the mere destiny of being a travellor makes one bad...Fury seems to take care of his family, he speaks well, his corner seems to have geniune affection for him. We don't know the circumstances of why his dad did what he did but I will say this: As a martial artist I generally try to avoid confrontation....there have been times in baltimore where I came dangerously close to broaching that ethic...but thats another story.

There are people who threaten and think they can get you into a scenerio where you fight by their rules....I will never let that happen. My family needs a father and I have no right to agree to rules. So with that said if I wind up in a situation like a street fight, the eyes are a target. Fury senior may well hold to the belief that there are no rules in a fight.

On the other hand if he accepted rules and did this shame on him.

Accept rules? You think the other guy started a fight with Fury senior, an ex heavyweight pug. From what I read, the best man in England wanted to fight the guy as soon as he saw him at the car show, over an old beef about a bottle of beer.

In the account below, one can see everything false in Gypsy John's testimony. First he says he is a man of honor willing to accept responsibility for what he did, then he turns around and literally squalls for mercy from the judge like a puling infant. If it was an agreed upon match, why did Sykes's family get involved, as Fury claimed? Hell, the agreement must have been to the death, then, or at least until the blinding of one or the other. Apparently Sykes chickened out and decided he did not want to be blinded in the other eye after all, having already cheerfully agreed to see who could blind the other man first. The other man hurt himself pulling himself away from Fury's cheek he was biting. I guess there is a first time for everything.

I guess we have to disagree that these are nice people just because they seem to like their own families. Tony Soprano liked his.

I do not want to see a Hell's Angels heavyweight champion either, or an MS-13 heavyweight champ, or a Ku Klux Clan grand wizard heavyweight champ. In Fury's case I am not worried about it, because I think he is far from having the right stuff, even in this weak era of pugilism.

Now that I know you are one of those ****** travellers yourself, I shall be more careful what I say about your kin, by God, Billy. Cheers.
